I have several favorite love songs, and I always like to think they'll be played at my wedding (which probably will be at least 10 years off, lol) . Have you ever been to a wedding with less-than-cheery music, such as:

John Mayer's, "Slow Dancing in a Burning Room"
Nickelback's "Far Away"
The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus' "Your Guardian Angel"
Train's "All I Ever Wanted"

In case no one's heard any of these before, some of the lyrics to "All I Ever Wanted" are:
'I convinced my self that over don't mean over
And I convinced myself that I could fix it all
Two dreams collided maybe we got too excited for our own good
No more - hold on we can make it
No more holding each other while the words all break it
Move on you know we'll be stronger in the end'

What're some of the less original songs you played at your wedding? Again, I don't plan on marrying anytime soon, but always wondered what sort I'd pick for my own wedding.

My boyfriend converted to judaism almost two years ago and I converted almost one year ago. We have decided to get married and we want to have a Jewish ceremony. The problem is neither of us has ever witnessed a Jewish wedding so we don't really know what we are supposed to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here's my dilemma. Recently engaged, wedding is summer of 2008 (yes, I know, I have a year and a half to plan)....but I'm having trouble finding "THE DRESS".

Why the trouble? Because I have tattoos on my shoulderblades that are tasteful, but I'd like to cover them to be respectful to my family and friends. I don't want them to be everyone's focus.

I'm not interested in tattoo cover-up makeup. It's going to run, rub off, get on my dress and veil, or other people's dresses, arms, etc. and I don't want to worry about re-applying.

So, does anyone know any bridal boutiques, or styles of dresses that could be accessed in either Southeastern PA or New Jersey (perhaps northern NJ where I live?).

I appreciate your help! Thanks!

I was thinking it would be nice to have the inside of my man's wedding band engraved, I'm still in the process of deciding, I'm not sure if it would be to corney or if he would like it at all. Please let me know what you think or if you yourself have had this done, how your spouse liked it, thanks. Also Im thinking about giving the band to him as a gift on Valentines day, he gave me my band on Christmas.

Ok, I have recently got enagaged to my boyfriend and I am absolutely over the moon! BUT I have found myself in a bit of a situation. We are currently in Australia on a 1 year visa which runs out in April (were both from the UK). Therefore we were thinking we could get married here! We would ask parents to come over, but it would be a small intimate wedding - something unusual by the harbour, and i'm sure would be lovely - this way when we get back to the uk we will be able to start a fresh and save upto buy a house etc. We already have our trip home booked to travel round Thailand/Malyasia so this would be a ready-made honeymoon. The other option is to wait and get married in the UK, this way would please our friends and family, and I always imagined myself having a big traditional wedding, the problem is, lot'sof our friends, family dont get along, we would also be very short or cash as we would still need to save for a house....I cant make up my mind & don't want to regret my choice.

well, we were in love for nearly three years,he promised me in about 900 letters he wrote me since then, promising he would never let me down. We were living far from each other, but he was the man of my dreams,I did every possible thing I could to love him,but he recently betrayed me ,he is working in China and his new gf is Chinese. I don't know what happened. He sold me so cheap and now he just insults me on the phone and says I should not bother him with my calls. We were going to marry, but now he says he does not love me,and never wants to marry.
What do you think?Should I stop thinking of him the way he did?
How can I prove how much I love him?
Should I go and never forgive him for that?
I am Iranian, muslim, and from a strict family, but I prefered him to my parents. He is Beligian and does not believe in God.
But I love him,we did not have significant cultural differences.
And more I always say we should be eager to accept differences.
What can I do now?I really need a man .

My name is Mike and I'm 26. I just finished college and i am engaged to be married to a wonderful women named Vanessa. I'm a bit concerned though....i'm scared is what it is. I never really had "a lot" of girfriends in my time...i've only had 2 but they were both serious..i dated one girl for 4 years through highschool. Anywho, I love Vanessa with all my heart. When i see her a smile comes to my face and i just can't help but want to hug her or kiss her. A lot of times i feel VERY sad when she's away. We are moving in together soon hopefully. The only thing i'm worried about is...is this right? I love her to death and when i'm with her i feel so happy but there are times when i'm away from her...and i just question EVERYTHING. I ask myself...am i making the right decision. Sometimes i ask myself if she is really "the one" or...maybe i should break our engagment off But when i see her there is NOTHING IN THE WORLD BETTER!! I don't know what to think...i don't know...HELP!!

My honey and I plan on getting married some time next year. We don't want to spend a whole bundle of money. He would like a church ceremony (thats not really the costly thing), We would like a decent reception (Sunday afternoon around Lunch time) but everywhere I have looked so far is going to cost a fortune. I was wondering if anyone can give me any ideas that will help save money, but will be beautiful and fun for not only us but for everyone else as well. I would be expecting around 50 to 60 people to attend (mostly my family). Thanks.

We're thowing a bridal shower for my best friend and her fiance. They wanted something real low-key since neither likes to be the center of attention, so we decided to thow an evening couples shower at a local restaurant/bar (most invites are to early 20-somethings who aren't into the "froofy wedding thing" but more about hanging out). We are going to be providing appetizers and non-alcoholic drinks, but the bar will still be open so people can additionally order what they want. I wanted to include something about this in the invite, but i don't know how to word it. By including this, I don't want people to feel like they have to buy something, but at the same time i want our frat boys to know up front that I can't cover their drink tab...how can I word this somewhat eloquently?

Here is my situation, my younger brother is getting married and his fiance asked me to be the maid of honor.
I am very flattered by this and I am very excited I have never been the maid of honor before.
But I am really not sure what I do? I know I hold the flowers for the ceremony, but I have heard that I throw the bridal shower and bacholette party. How do I do this on a really tight budget?
They live out of state so it's already costs a lot for the hotel and transportation there.
Please help with any suggestions.
Thank you in advance.
