If you are asking what I think you are asking, the Catholic Church (not sure about other churches) requires an affidavit saying that the person about to be married is is not married, has never been married, is not divorced etc. I believe you will need two or three people who have known you most or all of your life to go and talk to the Priest performing the ceremony.
Ask a family member or a life-long friend to go talk to the Priest for you. It is no big deal. My father and my sister did this for me. My mother in law and a friend did this for my wife.

Depends where you are, & what country your in go to the the national statistics office or a court house they will point you in the right direction, I had to do this as a legal document before Australia would allow us to marry as we are from different countries, mine was easy I just produced my original divorce papers from 14 years ago, I am the AUSSIE & my girl is filipino.

Public records at the court house. Can you not ask your partner if she/he was never married? If she/he was what does it matter now?
