Here's my dilemma. Recently engaged, wedding is summer of 2008 (yes, I know, I have a year and a half to plan)....but I'm having trouble finding "THE DRESS".

Why the trouble? Because I have tattoos on my shoulderblades that are tasteful, but I'd like to cover them to be respectful to my family and friends. I don't want them to be everyone's focus.

I'm not interested in tattoo cover-up makeup. It's going to run, rub off, get on my dress and veil, or other people's dresses, arms, etc. and I don't want to worry about re-applying.

So, does anyone know any bridal boutiques, or styles of dresses that could be accessed in either Southeastern PA or New Jersey (perhaps northern NJ where I live?).

I appreciate your help! Thanks!

Another thing- I don't want to wear a wrap or shawl that can be taken or (or be a problem) for the rest of the reception. I'm considering a bolero jacket, or a dress that has a closed/full back that will cover the tattoos.

I wouldn't want the pictures or video of us cutting the cake, or our first dance, to be distracted by my tattoos.

I tried David's Bridal- 98% of their dresses are strapless, only 1 has a short sleeve bolero jacket, and their long-sleeve bolero would be too hot for the summer.

Lady Roi sells some more modest gowns which is probably what you're going to have to go with. Alfred Angelo also sells some gowns with backs as does Mary's bridal. You might be able to get away with an off the shoulder gown since they usually come up a little higher in the back to accommodate a bra. I'm not sure how high your tattoos are. Also keep in mind that you can always order extra fabric when you order your gown and have a little jacket made. It's not the best answer but might work for you.

You can try Marry Me Wedding Palace in Edison. They have a pretty good selection, and they're very nice. Their 'Eden' line has some nice options that might be what you're looking for. They'll work hard to get you something you like! Congratulations and Good luck!

Bridals By Roma in Clifton, NJ. Not sure if they do or do not have what you want, but it's a very big store with a zillion choices!
