I wouldn't dream of playing any of these at a wedding ceremony. The reception dance would be much more appropriate. While it's tempting to follow your own fancy, weddings are not a time to shock your guests, unless its the good, "Oh, my, she looks so beautiful; and "Ooh, look at the candles!" While I hate to say Pachabel's Cannon in D is so overused, it's safer than say, marching down the aisle to Fallout Boy.

I'm REALLY into music. At my wedding, we had a DJ, and I gave him a fairly long list of songs that I wanted to be played. I think that it's YOUR day, so you should play songs that you like to hear, songs that mean something to you, and songs you like to dance to. Our DJ played almost all of my requests, however, he also played some songs that I didn't quite care for, but they were a big hit with the guests. So you have to figure, it's their job, and they know what's best. Their job is to feel out the guests and keep everyone moving and happy and, in my case, he did a great job and we got the best of both worlds!

I suggest taking a look at the wedding songs cds on amazon.com > They list the tracks on the cds so you can get an idea. But I would certainly be sure to choose songs that mean someting to you. pay attention to the lyrics.
I actually considered "far Away" for my own wedding, although I may choose "save me" instead. Because we both sort of saved each other from living bad lifestyles. our wedding is may 12th 2007.

My husband sang "From This Moment" at our wedding. I also love these songs for a wedding:
"Bless The Broken Road" by Rascal Flatts
I set out on a narrow way many years ago
Hoping I would find true love along the broken road
But I got lost a time or two
Wiped my brow and kept pushing through
I couldn't see how every sign pointed straight to you
Every long lost dream led me to where you are
Others who broke my heart, they were like northern stars
Pointing me on my way into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you
I think about the years I spent just passing through
I'd like to have the time I lost and give it back to you
But you just smile and take my hand
You've been there, you understand
It's all part of a grander plan that is coming true
Every long lost dream led me to where you are
Others who broke my heart, they were like northern stars
Pointing me on my way into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you
Now I'm just rolling home
Into my lover's arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you.

"I Will Be Here" by Steven Curtis Chapman
Tomorrow morning if you wake up
And the sun does not appear,
I will be here.
If in the dark we lose sight of love,
Hold my hand and have no fear,
‘Cause I will be here.
CHORUS
I will be here when you feel like being quiet;
When you need to speak your mind, I will listen.
And I will be here when the laughter turns to crying;
Through the winning, losing, and trying, we’ll be together,
‘Cause I will be here.
Tomorrow morning if you wake up
And the future is unclear,
I will be here.
As sure as seasons are made for change,
Our lifetimes are made for years,
So I will be here.
CHORUS
I will be here, so you can cry on my shoulder;
When the mirror tells us we’re older, I will hold you.
And I will be here to watch you grow in beauty,
And tell you all the things you are to me;
I will be here.
I will be true to the promise I have made,
To you and to the One who gave you to me.
As sure as seasons are made for change,
Our lifetimes are made for years,
So I, I will be here.
We'll be together and i will be here.

You need to consider several elements when choosing wedding music. Formality of the event, your venue's music policies, your family's tastes, if you want to have dancing... All of these things influence your choices.
We are getting married this coming December, and we have 4 Nickelback songs on our playlist. (And to the person who said they could picture your grandma dancing to Nickelback, I'll point out that my cousin played nothing but polka just to please his grandmother... I don't care if my grandmother is dancing, as long as I am!) Plus, a relationship isn't all teddy bears and chocolate, so it's appropriate to play any kind of music, as long as you and your fiance like it!

Well this is the first time I've heard of it... but the lyrics are nice. It's not traditional, but who cares? If it works for you guys go for it. Oh now that I'm listening it's the theme for baby borrowers lol... To me it seems like you guys are saying "Finally we're married" sweet.

I like the songs "I Swear" and From this Moment. They are wedding songs and I have heard them at most weddings. Good Luck with them.

I went to a wedding where the wedding party came in to bittersweet symphony by the verve and the bride came in to color blind by counting crows. it was a little wierd to me-but apparently it suited her---to me it looked like the bridesmaids should be doing runway-but whatever!
