Not only is a dowry not common practice in the US, but you can get into legal trouble for asking for a dowry from your wife or her family.

Here in the US, most people marry because they love and respect each other, and not by arranged marriage.

Do Muslim brides require a dowry? That would be quite sad. If someone would require money to marry, then the bride should consider another groom.

No disrespect but I thought dowries went out in the 1920's. So the anwer is zero. No dowries.
