My daughter is having this song sung at her wedding...it is the most beautiful wedding song ever. We looked everywhere for the sheet music and couldn'y find it. I even asked on here if anyone knew where I could buy it. Still no luck. Well I e-mailed Tierney Allen and she called me on the phone (I talked to her for about 5 mins.)and she is sending me the sheet music.. What a sweet person!!! I live in the woods in Nebraska and just can't believe that a complete stranger cared enough to call me. I just want people to listen to the song go to www.zenithrecords.com/tierney/default.asp and tell me what you think of this beautiful song.

your wedding and the wedding reception? In terms of location- was your reception held at the place you had the wedding or was it in a different local? How long (if not in the same place) was it in between the wedding and the reception?

My fiancee and I are having a wedding ceremony and reception next year. I'm trying to figure out what we should do about music. The ceremony will be short and informal - there will be no walking down the aisle or wedding attendants. Then, we'll follow that with the reception (both the ceremony and reception will be at the same place). We are having a 1950s theme. I was thinking of buying a new vintage-style record player (http://www.crosleyradio.com/prods/cr73-3.html) that comes equipped with a CD player so that we could play our 50's CDs, but keep the look of a 1950's party. We are also considering hiring a DJ - if the prices are reasonable. We are trying to do this as cheaply as possible. My question is, would the record player put out enough sound? We are having a wedding with 100 guests in this room (http://www.hamlinhouserestaurant.com/Weddingpage.html) and no dance floor.

I'm getting married outdoors in early May.

Where I live, the weather in early May can vary wildly, so I'd like to have an "indoors" backup location to be on the safe side.

Since I'm paying $700 for the primary venue (a bed and breakfast), I definitely do NOT want to pay for the backup venue as well! There's a community center that rents out its chapel, private rooms, and kitchens for free near where I live, and I'd like to reserve some of those rooms in case of rain. The only problem is, the community center is a good 30-45 minute drive from the bed and breakfast!

Is this okay, or should I choose a closer backup? Also, if I should choose a closer backup, do you have any suggestions for where I might move the wedding if it rains without putting down more deposits?

I was wondering which type of bridal shower did/would you really enjoy and/or prefer?

An at home one with homemade food and decorations? Or at your a super fancy restaurant?

Thanks!:)

Hi:)

I am a 1st time MOH, actually 1st time being in a wedding in my adult life, and I was wondering does the MOH typically pay more into stuff (shower, bach. party, gifts, etc.) then the bridesmaids or is it normally spread out even?

Thanks!:)

People might want to dress differently because my wedding is in early May and will be held outside of a bed and breakfast. Right now, the plan for the invitation wording is:

Ms. Stephanie Jones
and
Mr. Philip Smith
invite you to share in their joy
as they begin their new life together
on Sunday, the sixth of May,
at half after three 'o clock in the afternoon
at the Apple Crest Inn
Bed and Breakfast
in Fayetteville, Arkansas

MY WIFE'S BEST FRIENDS ARE THROWING MY DAUGHTER A WEDDING SHOWER....THEY ASKED MY DAUGHTER WHAT KIND WOULD SHE LIKE TO HAVE...SUCH AS MISC., HOUR SHOWER, MONTH SHOWER, ETC. MY DAUGHTER WANTS TO KNOW IF YOU GUYS KNOW OF ANY OTHER KIND OF SHOWERS. MY DAUGHTER IS SCARED IF SHE HAS A MONTH SHOWER THAT SHE WILL END UP GETTING A BUNCH OF HOLIDAY DECORATIONS...LIKE IF THEY HAVE THE MONTH OF JULY...SHE'LL GET 4TH OF JULY STUFF AND SHE'D RATHER GET STUFF OFF HER REGISTER.

My finace has an 11 year old daughter. The mother is married with 3 other children. She (the mother) seems to think that they all will being coming to the wedding. I do not care for the woman, in fact more than likely she or her children will end up embarassing me. (They have been known to do that at other weddings.) What would be a polite way to tell her "HELL NO and ARE YOU KIDDING ME?" By the way...She tends to hold grudges and is two faced. For example...she invited me to be her friend on MYSPACE, I ingored her request and then she asked me why. She tends to talk bad about me in front of the daughter and I hear about it.

I getting married in September and a girl that I work with that I also went to school with thinks that she is going to be one of my bridesmaids. We are good friends but we normally only see each other at work. I never even asked her to be one of my bridemaids but she automatically thinks that she is one. How do I tell her that she is not one of my bridemaids, in a way that it doen't hurt her feelings or ruin the kind of friendship we have?

need some ideas on what to do for my best friends hens night in july. Nothing too smutty, just loads of fun with the gals. Want ideas on something different other than the usual dinner, drinks and maybe a stripper. Something for around $50 per head.

I just got engaged & I'm happy about it, except for one thing. I'm very much in love with my fiance, but most of his family has a drinking problem, and they will use any excuse to get drunk & have fun, in some cases to the point of being belligerant, disrespectful, and sometimes just plain rude. However, most of my extended family is recovering alcoholics, and the ones who do drink are the "one drink on special occasions" type. I'm worried that his family will seriously offend mine & ruin the wedding. How can I avoid this happening? (Btw he drinks responsibly & I don't drink at all, if that matters)

3 weeks ago I had attended the wedding of an old friend. She and I hadn't spoken in almost 3 years and one day, out of the blue she had called me and requested that I attend her wedding as a bridesmaid. I was thrilled so I agreed. Later she informed me that I was not allowed to bring a guest. She knew that I had been living with my spouse for 3 years now, and when I told her I really wanted him to join, she had me pay for his plate which was 76$. This bothered me a bit, and I felt pretty insulted but I was determined not to let it ruin the occasion.
The day of the wedding went by smoothly untill during the reception I had found out that the bridesmaids were responsible for their own transportation. I was stranded, so ended up having to leave early.
As a gift I gave the bride 100$ cash and a few decorative items. She hasnt called to say thank you, or given me a bridesmaid's gift nor has she even sent a thank you card.
Is it just me or does she seem clueless about manners?

Hi everyone! I've been having a really hard time trying to come up with a date to get married. My fiance and I got engaged in October 2006, and I want at least a year to plan the wedding. The problem is that, currently I'm in college (2 years to go), and I know that he and I will be paying for this wedding ourselves. I want to set enough time to save the money myself without having to go in debt. Anyway, right now there are two options I'm debating on. The first one is April 2008, where I'll only have one more year of college left to pay for after that. The other option is October 2009, where I'll be completely done with my college degree. I'm not exactly sure which one I prefer...they both seem so long away! And my fiance says it's up to me, and that he wants me to have the wedding I want and when I want it. Any advice on when I should have it...April 2008 or Oct 2009?

We are planning a small beach wedding 25-30 people. We rented a beach house named "Bad Habit" can anyone come up with some creative wording for the invitations?

What should we pay for when it comes to the majority of our wedding party being from out of state? My fiance and I are trying to keep the costs to a minimum because we're paying for pretty much everything ourselves, and money is tight. Due to the time we want to have the wedding, we had to plan it for my "hometown" area which is another state. We really want our closest friends to be a part of the wedding, but we're afraid of the costs. Would it be out of line to ask them if they could pay for the majority of their stuff, with us throwing in gas money and a night in a hotel?

My fiance graduated last may, and I will be graduating this may, so we're the typical "broke college" kids.

I'm wondering what people's opinions are on this. I'm planning my wedding and my fiance and I can't decide weather or not to offer guests to certain people...for instance, two of our grandparents are widows, one of my aunts is a widow and hasn't ever dated anyone, and we both have younger cousins (ranging in age of 16 to 25 that do not have significant others). Do we still have to offer them guests? What is the polite thing to do?
