I was reading in a magazine that a woman's step-daughter was getting married and the bride wanted a picture of just herself, her husband and her mom and dad. The step-mother got very upset and said that the bride's parents were no longer married and she didn't want that picture to be taken. She wanted to be in the picture with her husband and wanted the bride's mother to be in a seperate picture.

This just made me upset because even if the bride's parents are no longer married and they are both remarried they are still her mother and father and I think she should be entilted to a picture with her parents without worring about hurting anyone's feelings or listening to what her bossy step-mother thinks.
What do you think?

You know, where you pull your hair back and it attaches on. Has anybody else done this for their wedding? Did it look too fake?

They don't approve of alcohol, but I love to drink, as does my bride and most all of our friends... My parents have volunteered to cover about $2000 of the $20,000 wedding expenses. I'm planning to have open bar and a live band and want it to be a big party.

Is it right for them to want to restrict alcohol consumption?

I'm on a relatively tight budget and don't want a lot of flowers, anyway. However, as it stands right now, I have no idea of what I even want! My colors are black and ivory and would really just like something simple that is not too overused in weddings. No roses, no lillies, no calla lilies. Like I said, I just want something simple and classy. PLEASE HELP!!

My sister in law is planning to have her wedding on the same day as her older sister (my wife's) birthday. We tried to talk her out of it, but she seems to be unwilling to compromise. She wants my wife to be in the wedding, but I don't think it's fair to make her sister choose to spend her birthday at her sisters wedding. Am I being selfish by thinking like this?!

I have recently found out that my maid of honor has been lying to my fiance and I on some serious issues. She has also been trash talking me to mutual friends, other bridesmaids, and even aquaintences. She is also taking credit for some of the helpful things my fiance and I did for a mutual friend. (We paid for the friends entire wedding and kept it between us and the friends gettin hitched.) I have no "proof" but the person that sat me down and told me.(EXTREMELY RELIABLE!!!) This person does not want me to tell the maid of honor it was her who tattled for fear of retaliation. (Understandable when the MOH has a rep for doing such) How do I approach this? Do I let it slide? She has never treated me like this (to my knowledge) before but in the past 5 yrs.I've seen it happen to others. I guess I should have seen the warning signs but I hoped they wouldn't apply to me. (I was wrong) I don't want a blow out fight before my wedding but how can I stomach to have her in it?

If it is improper to specify registries ect on a wedding invitation, then why isn't it improper to hold a bridal shower? That is more or less asking for gifts right?? Or is there a difference between a "bridal" shower and wedding "gifts"???

my fiance and i got engaged wehn we were pretty young (16/17) and my parents have completely ignored the fact that we are engaged. we have decided on a date for our wedding 2009 when we willl be a year away from finishing college. i want to tell my family, my whole family, not just my parents but i am hesitant to do so because i don't want to upset my parents. we were going to around Christmas time, but i decided not to since my parents weren't informed ahead of time. how should we go about telling them? and are there any ideas on getting my parents (mostly my mom, ok, just my mom) to stop saying things that suggest i will not be marrying my fiance? she does this a lot (like whenever anything related to marriage/future/children/etc) and it hurts for her to brush off something that she knows is already there. we even took our parents out to dinner when we originally told them and they still act as if we aren't engaged!!! any ideas would be much appreciated.

Most of my groomsmen have been in several weddings. I'd like to do something a little unique. I thought about a wine opener kit, cuff links, etc. However I just haven't found an idea I'm crazy about yet. Does anyone have any cool ideas for gifts?
