They actually make invitations that invite guests to the reception but not the actual wedding ceremony. To go a local card store like Hallmark and explain to them what you need, they can show you their selection. Nowadays with so many people getting married at the justice of the peace or overseas, it has become quite acceptable to just have reception parties. Congratulations and best wishes!

yes. The wedding is for the two of you to express you love and promises to each other. It is perfectly fine to have a private wedding and let everyone join in to celebrate with you at the reception.
If he gets neverous around a lot of people you can also just have very close family at the wedding and invite everyone to the reception. This way your loved ones can be at the wedding, with out there being to big of crowd for your new hubby.

Yes. Ofcourse. It's your wedding and you can do it any way you want.
I would just have some invitations printed up, that stated that they are invited to the reception. Give the time, date and place.
Include in there, that the wedding will be private and held at an undisclosed location.
Most people just want to go for the reception any way.
You should have a lot of happy guests.
Congratulations and Best Wishes!

That is fine. Sometimes you want something intimate for the wedding, so having a reception/party is a great way for those to feel involved in your celebration. Anyway, most people would be offended by not being invited to the reception than to the wedding itself. (Free food, drinks, etc.)

Yes it is acceptable. A lot of people will have a private wedding with family members only. Then follow with a reception for family and friends. And, I've known of people to have a Vegas Wedding, then reception after they get back home (not in Vegas).

Yes, my daughter went to the Bahama's to get married and honeymoon. We had a reception when they got home, a week later.
Also, you could just have immediate family in the actual wedding, but let people be in the reception hall at the same time, and you and your hubby can make a grand entrance.

To be quite honest, of all the weddings I have gone to I wish I had just gone to the reception. I mean, the ceremony is really for just the bride and groom and their close relatives. Most of the time, friends will just attend the reception. Tons of people in my family have done that and will be doing it in the near future.

It's easy.
One of my good friends did that. She and her husband got married in front of only family and then they had their reception a week later with all the friends. It was one of the best receptions I was ever at.

YOU can do what ever YOU want!!!
It sounds like fun.
Send wedding invites - Please join us at the reception to welcome the new couple etc...
By all means don't tell anyone where you are being married (;
We are all a little shy and will enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of the reception.
This is your day so just make sure you are both happy.
