Just Wondering What The Etiquette For Bridesmaids In Australia Is... What Does She Pay For??

Last year I was in 2 weddings. (a week apart!!) I paid for my dresses, hair/make-up, shoes, and between all of the bridesmaids we paid for the bachlorette party and bridal shower. That why when people ask you to be in a wedding, you really have to consider whether or not you can afford it.

I'm from the UK, and when I was chief bridesmaid at my best friend's wedding, I didn't pay for anything. If I had had to buy my own dress, I would have had to say no, because the dress was really expensive and I'm never going to wear it again, so it's been a real waste of money!!!

her dress and shoes, etc. the maid of honour is incharge of bachlorette party and helping the bride get ready on the wedding day. so she may ask other bridesmaids to help out with the party, but other than that, they have no financial obligation other than the outfit, which some brides pay for and others don't. it's better to just ask the bride what she expects.

I've never been a bride nor a bridesmaid, but I think it is customary for the bridesmaids to pay for their own bridesmaid gown.

Bridesmaids should all chip in for the Bridal Shower, a gift, the Bacherlorette party, and they should pay for their own gowns.

I am in US
bridesmaid's pay for their own dress,and all the bridesmaids can chip in for the bachelorette party and or bridal shower..

I don't know about Austrailia but in the U.S. the bridesmaids usually pay for their dress and shoes.

She should pay for her dress and shoes. Usually the gift to the bridesmaids is her jewerly. It should not be expected for them to pay for the shower/bachlorette party but it is a nice gesture from them if they do.
