Nothing tops fresh flowers- although they can be expensive.
Rather than doing many large tables at my daughter's christening, I opted for smaller ones so the arrangement did not have to look as large. I still had 12 tables to decorate. I did not even have a big budget- it was just a family lunch after the ceremony. But, I found inexpensive urn shaped vases wholesale on ebay- for like $2 each and then I committed to just one kind and color of flower to get the best price. In the end, I bought hundreds of beautiful white tulips from Trader Joes, in bunches of 10 for only $4.50 each. About 18 tulips fit into each vase and the vases looked full and elegant and not in any way cheap. I tied a nice wide pink and white gingham ribbon around the neck of the vase, and let it drape down a little. I also bought favors that looked like miniature pink gingham baby dresses and put them at each place. When it was set up, it was actually very stunning all together.

Hi. At my daughters weddings we used flowers, ivy, candles and everything was themed but no two tables were decorated the same. It was beautiful. DO NOT decorate with anything high, People want to be able to see the person across from them. Keep it pretty but small.

Clear bowls of different sizes with clear water and red floating candles and graffiti floating in them. or use red food coloring in the water and use white candles and graffiti in the bowls. Sparkling, shimmering things are so beautiful to look at. It makes people happy, and is romantic. Almost as if they are sitting inside a diamond. Around the corners of the room.....Green plants on pedestals with the wedding colors blended in somehow is really pretty also. They have shiny glitter pray for some things,(Micheal's Craft Store). Gift bags for your participating wedding members is a great appreciation gesture.

without knowing a theme, colors, formality of wedding and season or time, I've listed a few generic centerpiece links in the sources. Good luck!

i have seen a lot of couples find a fruit that ties in with their color theme. if ur going with greens use limes or apples, slice them up but them in tall vase of water. they look great and add color to the table. also fairly cheap if you pick something in season.

One wedding I went to was very pretty...they had colored water in a clear bowl and only had like 3 stems of flowers in each one. It was simple and very pretty.
