I would like to know what kind of wedding favors you guys are doing. I don't want to spend too much money on them but I also want them to be unique and special for everyone.

favors can be made, there are a great many cheap yet great looking ways to do wedding favors, having small baskets with mints, bells to ring when its time for the bride and groom to kiss at the reception.
Check on www.orentaltradingcompany.com they have a great selection of things for weddings.

We are doing a set of 2 glass photo coasters. They're simple, useful, and cost less than $1 each. Look through the wedding favor catalogs, find something you like, then search for it on ebay or online for much less money. I also like the idea of something that can double as a place card holder and a favor, but the mini picture frames are overdone. The favors that I can't stand are the CDs with the couple's favorite songs. Those tend to go right in the trash. Good luck!

We also did not want to spend a lot of money on favors, yet wanted them to be personal and memorable. Since we live in Texas, we made custom seed packets and filled them with bluebonnet seeds (the Texas state flower). We simply created the design of the packet in Microsoft Word, printed them out on paper in my color, and added ribbons on the packets in my accent colors. Depending on the seeds, you can do this very cheaply (around $50). The only downside is that it is pretty time consuming.

Something I learned doing this - while favors can add some personality to the wedding, I personally don't feel it's something that should consume a lot of time or money. There are many more important things to spend your time/money on, and if you can't eat the favors, then it just turns out to be something that people just look at, and then throw away.

Hope this helps and good luck with your planning!

my friends made Cd's for people. They burned a bunch of love songs, and fun songs that would be played at the wedding. They have kits that have the sticker labels for the cd's and you can print a picture on it. It was really cute because it looked like a rel album, cover and all. It was pretty cheap too. No matter what you decide, If you have the time, make them yourselves..buying them is a lot of money.

Definately visit orientaltrading.com they have a lot to choose from. But watch out because some of their stuff looks cheap. I would also visit a hobby lobby or other craft store in your area, they offer lots of ideas and ofter very inexpensive. I wanted to do the M & M's myself, but they were too expensive for me. I got my favors from www.exclusivelyweddings.com
I used the classic favor tote and filled it with their sugarbonen (which were the most delicious candy I've ever had) and tied it off with a sheer ribion to match my colors. I also got personalized matches and scatered them throughout the tables bacause my centerpieces were candles. Check out these other websites, they may help. Congrats and good luck!!

Wedding favors can be as simple or as complicated as you'd like. Depending on how many people are coming to your wedding, you might want to limit how complicated they are or you'll end up really stressed!
For our wedding in October, we ordered packs of coffee with our names and wedding date on them and we let everyone take their placecard holders. We followed the KISS rule--keep it simple! We knew a lot of our guests were staying overnight and that they drank coffee. It was a natural gift for us.
I would avoid anything that's personalized that isn't edible. People don't want to keep stuff like that. It just becomes clutter in their homes.
A lot of my friends were also recently married, and everyone did something different: flower bulbs, chocolates, and placecard holders.

something unique & special would be a donation to a charity that you are close to..has someone in your family every had breast cancer or other disease or is there a local charity that is important to you & would appreciate a donation...... then place a notice at each setting that this what you did in lieu of favors Good Luck & Happy Wedding!

I wish people wouldn't do favors. It's always something like a bag of jordan almonds or a glass witht he couple's names on it. As a recipient of many of these gifts, I'd rather they saved the money. Food is served at the reception, so I don't need some net bag of nuts, and despite how much I may like the couple, what am I going to do with a wine glass with their name on it?

we haven't got a lot of money for our daughters wedding so we're trying to budget wisely! one way to save money is for her cousins to make little favour boxes. the kids are aged 8 and 11 and very creative! they've made some fantastic boxes so far. we've got the paper in the wedding colours and will have similar coloured tissue paper inside with a little gift, maybe candy or something. we thought it would make it more personable to our family as well.

Go to OrientalTrading.com
I got a bunch of mine there, reasonably priced. They will personalize pencils, with little wedding bells on them!
I also had custom blue & pink M&Ms with our names on them--they are pricey ($10.00 per bag) but I see coupons for 2-4-1
Good luck, and a happy & long marriage for you!
