If your home can accomodate your guest list, have it there. You could also have it at a local fire house or park. It doesn't matter where you are married as long as the two of you are happy. Good luck! :)

Wedding receptions are kind of part of the deal... you can have it anywhere. If you are having a big wedding then I would rent a place big enough. Just make sure that the place you have it can accommodate your moms needs... like no stairs or elevators if there are stairs... comfortable seating, make sure it is warm enough etc... you can make sure that your mom has transportation to and from.
There is also nothing wrong with your mother attending the wedding and skipping the reception if she doesn't feel well enough. Ask her! The reception is meant to be the celebration where the bride and groom get to cut loose and party a bit!

Go to Vegas and takeyour Mom with you. The airfare to Vegas will still be cheaper than a big wedding. Our wedding in Vegas cost $99 at a chapel off the strip and we had a blast on a shoe string budget. Screw the wedding, go to Vegas, get married then see the town!
