so he tells me I should go home and get a nice bottle of wine out and pour a glass and then take a nice bath to unwind. he then went on to tell me how he was going to unwind after he got off work (we both had a tough day today) Was this a hint? Should I have asked him to join me (for the wine- not the bath) or was he just making conversation?

A great marriage requires a good deal more than a ceremony ending with a kiss and a certified license. A great marriage demands nonstop nurturing, mutual attention, constant cooperation, joint effort, abundant affection, two-way communication, and a heaping helping of hard work.

Wherever you turn, you see marriages dissolving into divorce; couples once head over heels in love now snarl and snipe at one another.
Whether you are newly married or celebrating your golden anniversary, the gentle reminders that i will post in this section will assist you in strengthening your commitment to your mate and creating a great marriage--a marriage made to last "'til death do us part."

What steps can you take to protect your marriage against such fate?

Fact One: Boyfriend is MISERABLE when his 17 year old is mad at him and makes me her "bestest pal" and is OK when she's mad at me and he's her "bestest friend ever"
I think today may have been the last straw, I left her a note on the frige asking her not to eat my lunches for work, and she left me one in return (a not nice one) and taped a Midol to it.
Shes NEVER home for me to let her know what is in there for my lunch, so how else but a note am I supposed to tell her?
So today, while visting his sister he told her that I left her a note with a Midol taped to it!!!!
I can't take the flip flopping anymore! He says that he's told her that she needs to try to get along with me, but I'm tired of her treating me like crap, and then never apologizing, and expecting me to be nice to her!

Do you as a wife find it disturbing knowing your husband "plays alone"?

wasn't answering his cell phone at close to 10PM. He left for work at 6AM & he always answers his phone unless he's at the bar when he's not supposed to be nor has he checked in with you all day. I called the 2 bars that he usually hangs out at, but they said he wasn't there & we haven't been getting along the greatest lately! In fact, we hardly speak, see or touch each other anymore! He works sooooo much & his days off are spent shooting pool w/ friends & napping! I know I should trust him, but I can't help wonder.....

My husband has a dog {Yorkie} and this dumb dog is constantly going after me if I get too close to my husband. He has bitten me at least 3 times.{He's a small dog,but those bites hurt badly}Anyway this morning I walked near my husband and the dog bit me on the leg ,and my husband done nothing.I told him that he needs to get rid of the dog because he has even went after my children. We got into a big argument about it and I told him before he goes to work he needs to take the dog somewhere else because I no longer want him around.Right now the dog is at his moms house and I'm sure on his way home from work he is going to pick the dog up,but I don't want the dog here. What would you do in my situation.Like I said anytime I go near my husband he goes after me and steps in between us to where we can't be near one another. Is it wrong of me to want him to get rid of the dog?

I'm not a prude but I get upset when it is done behind my back. Either he should be smarter about covering his tracks or include me in the viewing. I have voiced my opinion about how it bothers me so now I want to fight fire with fire and show him how this bothers me and makes me slightly insecure. I want him to feel that for a bit.

When I met my husband we were both smokers. After we got married, he made a comment about how he wishes I would quit...so I did. But when I asked him, he wouldn't quit. He's currently deployed and smoking overseas, but I asked him to not do it at all while he's home because we have a 3 month old daughter I don't want it to affect, I can't stand the smell of an ashtray when I'm near him, and its just extremely unhealthy. He doesn't see the big deal since he doesn't do it around us, but I want him to quit all together. Am I asking too much? I quit when he asked me to, why won't he?

I told my husband tonight that I am ready to have our last baby. We have decided that we want one more. And I have been on birthcontrol for 5 months now and it is not good to me. I get bad headaches and I loose my hair and they have switched me time and time again over the years. My body just doesn't do well with birth control.
I do want to get my tubes tied after we have our last baby. However, I can't handle the borth control and he will not wear a condom. So I figure let's have the last one call it a day so I can get my tubes tied.
I stay on the borth control because I don't want to have an oops child and neither of us wanting to have a baby at that time. And we have gon with with using natural family planning in the past but I have little one's now and it is hard to chart with three little ones.
Our youngest is 9 months old right now. He says he is not ready he doesn't feel financially set for another.
So what should I do? I don't want to pressure him.

To make myself clear I am going to explain what I mean. When people have broken marriages it is often because they married young. Young is often quoted as being teenish or twentyish. It is believable that the older people are the more they know who they are, their limitations, their potential and what they want. Many would agree that beyond the BIG 3-0, more often than not, one is at that mature phase.

How long did you date prior marriage?
How long (were/are) you married?
What went wrong in the marriage?

Please share your story or somebody's story. Please use specifics. I got the time to listen.

Please do not answer this question, "nope, happily married for 7 years and counting" because if you look closely at the question you will see that that is not what I am asking. I am doing a research project on love.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Is this emotional cheating

I was on a course with my husband
along with 50 other people. on the first day of the course I got very emotional and cried, as I had just had a stroke five weeks before. my husband would not cuddle me or talk to me. he only came to me when he was asked to by the tutor. when we got out of the class he left me to go and watch a movie with some other people. then the next day my husband sat next to this woman at lunch, and she was rubbing her hand up and down his leg , under the table. I could see this, so he got up and left the table.
only to go over to another woman and give her a cuddle as she was unhappy. I did not like the way he was acting, so we talk about it whole night and he told me that he would keep away from this woman ( rubbing his leg one) The next day I told him I wouldn't be going into class. But I did go and found him sitting with her again. I left and later asked him why he was with her again. but he lied and said that he wasn't. after I told him I sore them together he still lied. but after that he cried and said that wanted to prove to her that she couldn't intimidate him!
but when I talk about it he shouts at me, tells me that he was not being unfaithful, then cries and hits himself and blames me
for not going into the class with him that day.

If you've been thru the same thing, you can answer too.

My Husband is planning on going back to his native country in december. He has informed me that he will not be coming back here. We have discussed divorce and I have picked up the paperwork to get it started. The problem is that we have 3 minor children that he is leaving as well (If it were only me, I would not have a problem). He does not want to pay child support or anything else. He acts like nothing here matters to him. If we do not get the divorce before he gets back to his country he will not have to pay. I can start the proceedings now, but is there anything I can do to keep him here in the states until it is final? I need child support to help me financially with the kids. If I can get the support order before he goes, will his passport be revoked so he cannot leave? I need advise on where to go from here. He says he will not contest the divorce, but we will have trouble when it comes to child support. Help, please.

My boyfriend and I have been together for two years and until recently I have not been the subject of his ex's severe hatred towards my boyfriend. They have been divorced for three and a half years-mutual decision (but more so hers). There is no contact, I haven't said anything negative about her in front of their sons, haven't done ANYTHING. Now she is voicing her opinion of me to their sons and using the court system any way shape or form to get back at my boyfriend. I am divorced and never even thought for a second about acting the way she is.

So, why go after someone who is not causing or creating any drama in your life?
