Child support is intended to provide the child with the same amount of money, be it for clothes, toys, rent (they have their own room, rent is more) etc. that they would have had if mom and dad were still together. There is a formula of percentages used by the courts to figure what amount of mom's money would be spent on child and what amount would be spent of dad's money. The absent parent then pays that amount of money to the other.

Take your gross income and take out 10% perchild permonth and that is close to what you will pay for support of your kids if you don't have a job then it is figured at minum wage 5.85hr for 40hr per week been there done that also the more time you have with your kid the lower your support will be too.

It all depends on the state you live in, they all have different guidelines. But they mainly look at how much you make, how many children you have, how old they are, health insurance cost for the children, etc. Type in your state and then "child support guidelines" in a web search.

Child support is based on the income of the spouse who would be paying, my dad gives my mom $1,300 per week which goes towards food, clothing, bills, and activities, also if you weren't working you can get alamony for a few years to help support your family

Are you in arrears, ? how old is the child. There are many ways to update the % of child support you have to pay. It also depends on the state you live in how old the child is, have you been running from child support. There is no easy answer.

in nc.. it is 17% of your gross income. all states base it on your income...
