Depends on what state you're in. In some states it is faster if you do not have children.

I got a no contest divorce in NC and it does not matter if you have children with husband/wife or not. No contest has nothing to do with the children at all. It is a simple process that involves nothing more than you telling the judge that you have not lived together in over a year and you wish for this marrige to be dissolved. As long as he does not show or does not contest you get it signed by the judge right there in the court room and its a done deal. I believe it took about a month or 2 after I filed for the case to be heard but it is painless.

In my state of Ky it was 2 months from the papers signed and turned in because I have kids. I would say a few weeks or so without kids? Just depends on your state and how quickly your lawyer helps process it. Mine even went to the judges for me also, since my ex and I agreed on all things.

It would help if you put where in the world you are at.
In Canada, it can be done in 30 days.
In the US it varies by state - but if there are children involved, usually a minimum of 6 months.
Can you put more information down?
