I am admittedly old fashion, but it seems to be that by leaving the caring for their home and raising of their children as their first priority behind in the pursuit jobs and careers they have hurt the core of the American family. When did caring for the home and raising children become anything less than the most noble and important job on earth? I understand there is a lot more to it than what I stated above. I am open minded and genuinely want to hear opposing opinions. I have some mixed feelings myself.

BTW: I am happily marred with kids. My wife is my equal. She is a stay at home mom. I know we are lucky we can do that. My wife has as much control over what I do as I do over what she does.

My wife has just checked her self into an addivtion hospial for drinking. She has confeesed to me that she has had an affair within the last few weeks including sleeping with him. I'm not sure if I can get past this even though I know that she has an alcohol proble. She claims that she still loves me but I had pushed her away during this problem.

My wife and I each make about $50,000 a year, we both have credit card debt and student loans. we bought a house last year, so mortgage payments too, and we have two boys (12 & 15)

So far we have been ok, but I don't feel we are getting ahead with our debt reduction. The house market is starting to go down, and interest rates will go up.

Every time I suggest we make a budget and cut some luxuries (like cable TV) she gets mad and accuses me of not trusting her with our banking. Now she also has her mind set on buying a new washer/dryer! the set we have are old (about 15 years) and normal capacity, but they WORK. She insists that we need new, larger capacity ones.

I will probably get a bonus for Xmas, and she wants to use it for the washer/dryer.

We've already borrowed money from her parents twice, and I can't ask my parents for any. What we NEED is a budget, but she won't talk about it!

What do i do? I thought about asking her parents to intervene, but that might make it worse.

I am a christian and I do not believe in getting a divorce except for marital infidelity, but I am so sick of my husband! We haven't had any intimacy in several days because it is hunting season and he is too wrapped up in either hunting or learning taxidermy. By the time the kids are in bed, he is too tired and wants to sleep before going to work on 3rds (He is supposed to sleep during the day while I am at work). We need to move because our house is too small and I find the perfect one that we should go look at b/c it is in our price range and just what we want, but he isn't even interested because it isn't up his dad's a**! I am so sick of his family, living within 1 mile of his grandparents, his dad, his brother, his sister, his uncle and living an hour away from any of my family. If I say anything about hunting or his family...it's just a big ole fight and I get accused of bitching all the time. His family has lied about me, talked behind my back, and put me down to him.

I have been married seven years. I will soon be going out of state for a week of training with a female coworker who is a good friend but also, frankly, 5 years younger, single, very attractive and somewhat flirtatious.
I am not concerned that I will misbehave. I am not concerned that my coworker/friend will misbehave either. What I concerned about is jealousy from my wife and people starting rumors where I work. I went on a weeklong trip with her and one other female coworker 6 months ago no problems, but maybe that was because there were three of us instead of just two?
Any help here? We both do need to go on this training and it really wouldn't be professionally meaningful for anyone else here to go with us.

My husband feels the need to look at porn and jack off when Im not around when I asked him not to do that. I give it up to him everyday and yet he still feels the need to look at porn and pleasure himself, I know I do good at what I do but now its like I dont want to do it anymore cuz he will do his thing anyways. Plus when he told me that he wouldnt he kept it from me and lied about it. what should I do and how do I deal with the emotions that this is making me go through?

I work in a library, and yesterday,I was helping an acquaintance/neighbor who is my age (early 40s) find a book, when she started going on and on about how great my husband is (we are separated),and how she is certain that he will not be 'on the market' for long,so I quietly said 'You can have him...and at a discount.'
She went and called him to tell him my comment, and now he's pissed off at me.
What is this woman's problem?I plan on ignoring her the next time I see her...do you think that is the best thing to do?

If you have some experience with this, I would love the feedback. Been in this relationship for 7 years. I spent 4 of these years afraid and afraid to leave. I honestly felt like I could not leave. Sick of his rage, sick of being afraid, sick of working my **** off and most of the time being the only one working, tired of bailing him out of his messes, sick of his depression, sick of his rage, sick sick sick. So in June I left MY house, because he would not leave. I asked him to leave and he went back and forth and said he did not want to leave. He went to his doctor, ended up seeing a different one, found out he was not on the right meds and was bipolar. New meds completely returned him to who I once knew and he has now been seeing a therapist since June--twice a week. I find myself unable to create intimacy, angry with him, and unable to forgive him. I think I need to get out of this but before I do, has anyone been able to repair a relationship so completely broken?
