My mother has never been fair or honest. She has six children. Me and my sister are the only ones who never receive xmas presents and our children do not either. She has only included her male child in her will, leaving him her house and bought him a sports car. She spends a lot on my sisters but is never really fair about it, her son always receives more. I do not consider them family, nor does my sister because of this. When she needed money in the past it was always my sister and I who helped her and we were never repaid as promised. Is it wrong for me not to bother with her?

My brother in law and his 2 year old son live with my in laws. My husband and I live 2 hours away and go to visit once a month and stay usually for 2 days. We now have a 10month old daughter we take with us. The 2 year old tries to hit, kick, throw things at my daughter and he does NOT get disciplined. The grandparents don't discipline him because they want to be exactly that grandparents but the dad is always working or out running around and doesn't do it either. My husband and I don't feel like it should be us having to do it since it's not our son, plus we're afraid it might cause a fight but I am really worried he might hurt her. My husband talked to his dad, my in law, and his response was that "feel free to discipline him" but we don't feel like we should have to. We hate to not go visit anymore because they are our parents, but... Any suggestions?

i just found out my daughter was touched many times by her half brother. he dosen't live with me. i'm not sure what to do now. the state is involved now. but what i don't get is she says it happened this summer in my parents barn and in my van on the way home from school, so why didn't she say anything? shes not even upset about it. i know my daughter very well, so my other question is could she have played a part in it to? she has lied many times for the attention she gets from the school so how do i know what is the truth and whats not? her half brother admits to touching her, but she still says nothing to me. i know she will need counseling but if she played a part in this shouldn't she have to take responsibility to?

I was walking past his bedroom the other day and noticed that he was looking at porn, I don't think he saw me. He is 14 years old. Should I confront him about this? Is this normal or completely inappropriate? Should I punish him, or what should I do? Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Just to give you a better picture, we're both 16. I was always good friends with her. But I always felt like I had to hide the fact that I drink or smoke pot or anything that had to do with that sort of stuff. I always thought she was a good girl, and that she would think differently of me. About a week ago I found out that she drank, and all of the sudden that changed everything. Like that small little fact changed my whole view of her. Now I talk to her every single day online and I tell her everything. And I've never actually told her I loved her (family love folks, nothing weird) until after she told me that. But for some reason I feel uneasy. I don't know if maybe I'm just mad at myself for letting something so small as whether you drink or not affect our relationship for the last few years. Or maybe I'm just so overwhelmed with the transition between distant relative to close friend. Can someone help me with my confusion??

my husband and I have been together since i was 3 months pregnant.I am now 8months and i am expecting a boy!
now,my sons biological father is fillipino and im half french and japanese.so he will look asian.
My husband is polynesian (maori) and has dark skin.
he is willing to raise my son as his too but im worried what the world will think when he tells people that its his son!his familly thinks that im caring his child..I told my husband to tell them the truth but he says it doesnt matter, that he is "the father".
Obvisouly, they are not going to look alike.him and my familly says its best not to tell my son the truth.
but then im worried that my son might get bullied when he starts school by the maori kids because he might tell them that hes maori when he looks asian!and im also scared that he might stop respecting my husband or go look for his real father.i know i will have to tell him the truth oneday but when?
Also, what do i tell people if they say he doesnt look like his dad?

Ok, well I have asked many questions about my step daughter. And have gotten alot of very helpful advice. I need alittle advice about her and my parents.

I need to know if it would be wrong not to allow her at my parents house.Shes 10 years old.Shes only known my parents since she was 8.And we do not have full custody.

Every single time she is at my parents house and my Grandmothers house, she is very disrespectful, rude, mean, and very destructive of THEIR home. They have been very good towards her. They invite her over to go swimming and include her in the family.Last year at Christmas she said to them"Thats all you got me?" And got really mad, and pouted. She refuses to listen to them and THEIR rules. She says mean and rude things. She feels she can do whatever she wants. The last time she was there, she ran through the house with muddy feet, tore apart rafts for the pool, and told my cousins they dont belong there, that they should leave.CONTINUED>>>>>

My son has a child with a mother that is not legally divorced, therefore my son and she never married. What steps can he take to obtain joint custody rights? They live in Alabama. Any web site or help would be appreciated. She is threatening to claim abandonment to get joint custody with her mother, although he hasn't abandoned them.

My boyfriend and I have 2 children, 31 months and 16 months. The youngest one has a mild form of cerebral palsy in which she can not use her left arm. She does have a therapist that comes to our home and teaches me techniques to do with her to overcome her disability. I am the only one who does her therapy with her never her father. My question really is who would obtain custody if my boyfriend and I part ways? I know he would not put in the time each day to do her therapy with her and she will never improve in her condition. He is the primary financial provider. I work part time with little pay, go to school full time to become a nurse, and take care of the kids the majority of the time with the exception of 4 hours a day a couple times a week. I have a misdemenor of disorderly conduct, no family members, and his family does not like me due to the fact that he lies about the fights we have and always tell them it's my fault. Who will more than likely get custody?

This boy is my boyfriend's 8 year old nephew, his mother has never really cared for him, so my mother-in-law has raised him.. he leaves with her and other 7 people in their house.. every single member of their family, including my mother-in-law yells at him, calls him names like (exactly these words): pig, ******, stupid, p**sy, small penis, and even more hurtful nicks.. but is very weird because she says she loves him, but never pays any attention to him, nobody helps him with school work, instead they tell him he will never be anything good in his future.
Sometimes they do hug him and give him stuff, but to me, it only confuses him more.
His grandma (my mother-in-law), has beaten him with everytihng she can find and has left bruises.. One time his teacher saw them and called the social services people and gave a warning, she was very depresed..
What can I do? How can I do it? Who can I tell? I really don't want anyone in their family to know is me, if i ever report it

I am a very nice girl. I am very polite and I always try to get along with every1. But I always end up getting screwed over. My mom doesn't appreciate me and I do everthing for her. I am the only one who takes care of her. My husband has no respect for me. He is very cold and not very understanding. I am starting to really regret marrying him(been married 11 years). The one best friend I had screwed me over as well. She was always filling my husbands head with bullcrap about me.She would tell him I might be cheating which was not true I am way too proper and love my husband and family too much to do that. I cut all ties with her. But I can't just get rid of my mom and my husband. My mom is 67 years old and she has no1 but me. I have 4 little boys that need their dad. I never had one so I do not want to rob them of that. I feel like I have no1 and that really sucks because they always say you get what you give but I give everything I've got to everyone and I rarely get any appreciation

My cousin and I used to be best friends. We were inseperable, and did everything together. She lives overseas, so I used to email her and talk with her on the phone all the time. Even though she is 15, and I just turned 13, I am very mature for my age.
She came to visit with her family last summer. I was excited to see her and for the first week or so we were fine.
Then my brother, who is also 15, started hanging out with us. I was fine with that. But me and my brother are not the best of friends, and pretty competitive. So when my brother made fun of me or was rude, I was not surprised.
But when my cousin sided with him on everything, that surprised me. Whenever she and I were with him, she changed, and so did he. They both were meaner to me, but when my cousin was mean to me, she always acted like she was innocent. Over the course of their visit, she did many things to upset me, and my brother was involved in all of them
