Hi, I was married for almost 4 years. SInce July, me and my husband have been separated. We are now trying to sort out about our stuff, specially money situation.
The only thing I know is that to apply for the divorce, we have to be separated for 12 months.
Does anybody know my rights in this case? I am not australian (but i have permanent visa) so i dont know exactly the laws.
My husband wants to stay with everything we had....and give me a certain amount of money (half of the value of the total).
I want to know my rights first...I dont want to have anything else than what it is fair in our break up. I am afraid to agree with him and he be in a good situation. I am the one without job beacuse i was studying full time and also no money saved.
Could anybody help me? I just would like to know what are my rights.
I was going to talk with some lawyers about it but i had to leave australia because my mum is sick at the moment...that makes the situation worse.

I recently divorced my wife for barely a year. We were separated in February and divorce was finalized in July. Afterwards, I found out that she got pregnant in May with her co-worker, who I suspected having relationship withmy ex-wife prior to our divorce, and they got married shortly after my divorce was finalized. I guess in her mind, once she left me it was the same as a divorce, which allowed her to see other people. Is this considered cheating?

That I have the children. We are different religions and I also get them on those holidays as well. I was going to get out of work early and pick them up tomorrow for my birthday and the same on the holiday. It is just an hour or two earlier than normal and my ex will not agree. I am tired of arguing all the time but the kids also want to see me as opposed to being home alone until my ex gets home. I emailed her that I will be there early tomorrow regardless of what she told me. When I was married she was the same way, very overbearing. If I do not stand up to her behavior this will never end. Any suggestions?

My boyfriend moved out of our apartment that we shared for a year. He said that he needs to move on with his life, but he keeps coming back. I offered to move out so he could get over me, but he said I can stay. He doesn't seem to want me to move on, but he isn't trying to get on with his life either. My husband has cheated on me five times during our marriage and left me twice. He has now left me again however it has been 4 weeks since he left and has visted me to get mail and bills during this time he keeps on about my apperance as I have lost 3st in weight over this he keeps on saying how good I look. He even texted me the other day and said he had made a mistake and wanted to talk but by the following day he had changed his mind again after I stupidly slept with him. I know I am being a door mat but how do I get over him after that long and move on. Even now my heart says one thing and my head says another while he keeps me dangling on with a bit of affection in case he makes his mind up and changes again. I feel so hurt to see this other woman driving my car while I am walking and I lie awake ever night thinking about them being together and about him sharing her life while I am alone. I just can not see any end to the hurt and humiliation I am feeling.

My husband has cheated on me at least two times that I know of, he refuses to get a job, never lets me go out, won't let me have any friends, and always makes me fill like crap just because I leave him with our two children so I can work to support us. So long story short, I love my sister so much, but through out the years she has had hard times (drugs/partying) And when she is clean (not doing any drugs) she is my best friend, but she goes on bindges that sometimes last 7-10 months, and she becomes a completely different person. I want her in my wedding (clean), but who's to say she wont go on a binge and be Missing in Action during my wedding. What should I do? I was thinking of asking her to be a BM and if before the wedding she goes missing just replace her with someone, but I dont want to be rude and make someone else feel like they are 2nd choice.

I really want the clean her in the wedding! What would you do? or have you had any experience in this. PLEASE HELP!

My boyfriend and I are getting married. We have been together for 6 years. We are not going to have a wedding, just going to our local court house. But we are having a big reception with family and friends. We do not want to register for anything because we do not need anything. Instead we want a money tree or money boot. Some people have said we were wrong for that. But we feel we shouldnt have to register somewhere just to make other people happy when this is our day. Plus the fact we have been together for 6 years and have everything we need. We are not pack rats and do not want to become pack rats. I do not think a money tree/boot is wrong and I know there has to be a tactful way to announce to the guests. Any ideas?
