The Family court has done the right thing & followed the correct legal procedure & practice which is applicable for divorce by mutual consent. To ask for anything more from the learned court is out of question & you have to wait for this six months period when a final decree of divorce will be issued to you. This six months time is the statutory time period provided under the provision of mutual consent & no judge can avoid such time limit as that will be amounting to misusing or wrongful use of its jurisdiction against which such a judge can come under the scrutiny of the High court which can pass strictures against such a district judge, which no such judge would be prepared to take.

No, that is mandantory time that the court allows in case a couple decides to reconcile. If they do reconcile, they do not have to remarry. It always pay to talk to your attorney though, because all states waiting period is not the same.

depends on the state. my husband and I did the same but he went in to the attorneys office and signed the papers and waived our 30 day waiting period. the attorney went and talked to the judge and they both agreed not to waist more money. We never went to cout and the divorce was final in 2 weeks.

Depends on the state laws and if you had a lawyer or not.

Ask an attorney and see what he says.

No way to reduce unless you appeal the court decision.

The reason they did it is to see if you guys can reconcile, but I don't think so.
