My boyfriend moved out of our apartment that we shared for a year. He said that he needs to move on with his life, but he keeps coming back. I offered to move out so he could get over me, but he said I can stay. He doesn't seem to want me to move on, but he isn't trying to get on with his life either. He thinks moving out was a mistake, but neither one of us wants him to move back in. He has been here the past 2 days...why does he keep coming back?

he is playing games with you...he moved out which is a major thing to do and now he just wants to be sure he can still have you whenever he wants..& it's working....you have to put your foot down and tell him, no matter how you feel, that he can not stay....you will never be able to work out your feelings with him right there.

"Neither one of us wants him to move back in." See, I don't understand how both that and this can be true: "He has been here the past 2 days." So, you're saying he moved back in against your will and against his own? The only reasonable explanation is that one or both of you is lying. It appears that you both want him to move back in. Maybe you're comfortable with the way things have been. Maybe "moving on" seems like too much trouble. Maybe when you're apart, you can't really feel the reasons why you tried to break up. There are a lot of possible reasons why you don't fully want to break up.

Your choices: 1) remain in slightly uncomfortable but not too bad limbo, or 2) take decisive action to end the relationship. For some examples of decisive action, just read through the answers above mine -- changing the locks would be a good one.

He comes back because you let him. As soon as he finds a new girl, he will leave you again. Tell him he moved out and you don't offer second chances. You'll be a happier person if you stand up for yourself.

Tell him to get out and change the locks!

He keeps coming back because HE CAN! Stop letting him.

Stop the DRAMA now! You have to take control of this situation.

Theirs a simple plain answer for this, its called sex! And if its not that then, maybe he has no where else to go, guys can lie thru their teeth and not miss a beat! So my theory is he either A-has no where else to go- or B-he,s wanting sex or your company. I think your reading to much into this, I dont think its so much you he wants, I think his motives are for his own self-grattification. So watch your back, I think he,s up to no good.

Make up your (dumb) mind.
If you don't want him back, act like it.
He leaves his key and you go out with friends (so you can't open the door).
Next time you are just about to get out.
Keep it up untill he gets the message.

He is pathetic and afraid of change. He wants you as a buffer. Quick and Clean. Be brave and tell him so.

Because you allow him to....if you have called it quits...then there should be no reason for him to keep coming back....
