Do men prefer it if a woman is quite straight forward with things? For example, if they like you, should they just tell you, or leave you to find out in the future?

If a friend asked you out would you turn them down?

thnx

My mom and my dad have been split for a long time. (Since I was 3) I have lived with my dad during the school year, and my mom in the summer ever since. My dad has always been an alcoholic, but it got even worse after he divorced my stepmother (a terrible woman). We moved into a house, just the 2 of us. He was never home. I was 15, and alone 24/7. Scared and alone. 1 night he had a little too much to drink that took his feelings out on me. My school pricipal called the police and ect. Now i live with my mom, and never speak to my dad. Its been hard 4 me all my life, drug addicted mother, alcohol addicted father, a step mother who loved to put people down; still i have never done drugs and i manage to get straight A's in school, but i am so depressed, its unreal. I cry (alot) and do things.. i just feel so numb, sad, and angry all at the same time and i just don't know what to do..my 16th birthday is wed and i feel so alone,i would rather have advice from complete strangers than friends

He told me "I'm going to marry you someday" and he constantly says that! Then he said "you know i'm going to secretly propose to you at the calgary stampede" i'm not sure if he was being serious or not but i just started laughing, what do you think he means? if he is gonna secretly do it at the stampede its not a secret anymore!

So with your experience what does it mean? Is it just because we're in love or is he getting more serious?

We all know she needs to go she is 87yrs old and her mind comes and goes but thats not why we are putting her there, its because she likes to leave the house and has no idea what she is doing or going. My uncle which is her son is tripping all he does is worry and bother me he lives way up north and I live down south. I am a nursing asst and i have worked in nursing homes for 7 yrs I try to tell him in a nice way to let go and let God but he is not hearing me. He knows i know what I am doing but he is getting on my nerves ringing my cell phone every hour. I am in the process of getting her set up but I am new to the area I am living in now and it takes time. I had to call the paramedics yesterday to come and get her because she was very combative and confused. so now she is in the hospital recieving treatment. can anyone shed some light on my situation? all comments needed. are there and websites I can go to for info?

me and my boyfriend have just recently gotten over a huge fight. it was a result of both of lack of communication and just general stupidity on both of our parts. i want to do something special for him, but everytime i try to ask if he wants something, even if it's just me treating him to dinner, he keeps telling me he doesn't want anything.
what is something special i can do? i want to do something a little romantic for him

By the way, she and her husband are in policing agencies so, there you have, what would you do, think AL Green and Grits! Gritball!, its a slow revenge, she is well aware of her rights regarding prosecution but it isnt that easy when you work in the county remember how dangerous leaving is, so be gentle in you response, and if your a smart a zz, I dont think it'll really create anything more than laughter

The guy i used to like last year has been showing me more attentions than usual for the past two days.He seems to like teasing me & keeps saying things like "I want to play with your mind" (not straightforwardly, but in a round-abt way).He even suggested that he thinks that I deserve to be in the prefects' list instead of my best friend(who's really good at that stuff).

I am just confused as to what he wants from me after all this time.Is he just playing with me or does he really want to get together?

Thanks everyone.

p.s. I DID ask him out last year & he told me that he would have said yes,if not for the fact he wasnt looking for a relationship just then.so,i kind of gave up on him after that.

My fiance and I are going through some problems and it's mostly my fault but I've done my part on the situation to change my ways. He changed but for the worse. He says he's going through a phase but this phase is evil, disrespectful, uncaring, rude and LAZY. He keeps telling me thats it's because I hurt him. but... he always told me "If your gonna be mad, ok, but after a few days get over it9." Well its been 2 months. Should I wait or should I let him go?(I have a child by him)

I had a horrible childhood growing up as well as my 4 other siblings. Our mother was not the greatest parent to say the least. All of us grew up with our own problems (still in counseling) because of the lack of emotional support and parenting we received.
My mother has not changed. She is the same person now as she was then. She is even a horrible grandparent!
Yet everyone in my family has no guts to say anything to her.
I feel like I'm going to explode if I don't get out my feelings. I want to tell her the straight and honest truth about what she has done to all of us and what she is still doing.
I know that she will never change. But, it is something I need to do for myself.
In situations like this, when you know that a person will not change, do you still let them know how you feel? Or do you just let it out in another way and leave the past alone?
I think that one day I won't have the chance to tell her how she hurt us and then I will have it on my shoulders. What would you do? TY

I am 24 years old. The delivery guy for my store has been flirting with me for a while now ( about 8 or 9 months ). He has even asked me out which I had attributed to my having a bad day and he was just trying to make me feel better. I haven't said anything to him or even let him know that I am interested. The thing that is stopping me is that he's 50...old enough to be my father...his kids are older than I am. Is this too old? too much of an age difference?

My husband has cheated not sure how many times. Sex is ok with him, but I don't trust him and so, I can't get into it. Don't want to divorce, we can get along. More like room mates. I have tried to rekindle the flame, but he doesn't seem to listen to what I need. I don't know what to do. I'm not really sure he would care if I cheated, then it would give him an excuse. I'm so confused. HELP! If you want you can e-mail me through yahoo if you don't want to post.

My older sister and younger brother and I are looking to get a sibling tattoo(s). We all are really close but our likes differ so much. I thought we could get somthing with the trinity symbol, but they both shot it down. We are looking for somthing that is similar, but it dosent have to be the same, since we are so different.

Sometimes I feel like the only reason (or one of the main reasons) I am with my boyfriend still is because I don't want him out of my life. I have known him for 6 years and we have had lots of memories together. I don't see him NOT in my life right now and it really scares me to think of him not being in my life. I wonder if I am just afraid to let go? What are your thoughts....

just feel like they want things to be faster like after youve known them for about a day or two they want you to be dating them already and they say all the nice things to you, and even to the point of telling you that as if they feel that they like you already, i just cant stand that lie, i mean if he did really like me he would take the time to get to know me day by day, and that he would also give me the chance to converse with him intellectually and not just about hobbies or favorite music, and so yes i get tired of this kinds of men, who wouldnt take the time to take things slowly so i just get out of the dating scene and try to reflect on what i really want, since im not really looking for a boyfriend and i want something deeper then i guess there is nothing wrong with avoiding men at this point of my life, im 20

last night when my mother and i came home from bingo, we caught my husband with the babysitter. we came home early because momma wanted to get more money. imagine my shock when we walked in and the kids were running wild and my husband's truck was in the driveway and he and the babysitter were nowhere to be seen. me and momma walked outside to go out to the shed (that's where momma hides her money) and there he was...with our babysitter. it's not as it seems...our babysitter is 72 years old! omg...i nearly puked. and the scary part is ...he was sober! they were at it so hot and heavy that they didn't hear me and momma screaming!!! should i fire the babysitter??

My guy friend called me the other night and asked me for a ride so i went to pick him up.Before he got in my car he said " I want you to know even though i don't show it often but ( pause) I think that your really awesome?" He seemed like it took him alot to say it. Is he trying to tell me he likes me more than a friend or was he just being random and friendly and was glad for a ride? How can you tell if someone wants to be more than friends anyway?

It's my mom's birthday on Wednesday, but she and I just got in an
argument and I don't think I can say "happy birthday" to her or give her her gosh darn gift. I feel like just opening her door and shoving the gift in her face and going "happy fkn birthday". Should i just leave her gift on her bed after she goes to work and not say happy birthday to her, or should i just keep the gift for myself?
I feel really bad, but i really dislike her at the moment.
I put a lot of thought and I used my allowance money to buy her something she'd really like, but I don't want to see her happy. Should i give it away to someone else?

I committed an adultery 2 years ago which I regretted very much.Though my hubby has forgiven me, we still have problems in the sexual realm. It has been a great struggle for me as he loves me very much but I don't.I wish someone can help me with this one-sided relationship. It has become a phobia for me when he asks for sex.I really have no desire for that with him yet I feel so guilty for not fulfiling my role as a wife.Every minute of sex with him is such an ordeal to me as I have no feelings for him at all.I am depressed and trapped.Yet, I know I cannot divorce. He would never agree to that. Please help.

This question has been asked before but I need some more feedback. The lady I'm seeing I like her alot cause she is alot like me and I can really relate to her. But often we do argue over the dumbest things. I feel myself losing more and more interest in her. I use to think dating people like me was what I wanted. Now I don't know for sure, maybe dating people opposite of how I am is the answer. Or maybe I'm just one of those people who can't stay interested in the same person forever. Maybe they can have common interests but still be different. Any help on this would be a big help! Any takers?
