Emotionless, exanimate, numb, "dead inside."
These are all ways to describe that "empty" feeling we get inside of us whenever we're stressed out, anxious, depressed, ect.
If you feel overwhelmed by something in your life, you can get this feeling in your chest, like there's an empty space inside. Other feelings might be loneliness, grief, longing, hatred, etc.
To get rid of this feeling, you just have to deal with whatever is causing it. Hope this helps and best wishes!

I think it means a person feels like they are just going through the motions of life w/out any purpose. Usually a depressive, self loathing kind of thing. What makes a glass happy? Serving a purpose. ie holding something. If you're empty why are you here? I think an empty person needs to be washed out and put back on the shelf to look out at what might be good to be filled with. When you've fallen behind the nightstand it's hard to see what's out there.

It means that something is missing in your life. For example when you participate in a activity or buy something that disappoints you then you walk away with an empty feeling of disappointment and think is that all their is.
Sorta like the song line Trade your Chevy for a Cadillac and think to yourself is that all you get for your money if that's moving up then I'm moving out.

Feeling empty could indeed mean something or someone is missing from their life. I personally have felt empty since my 15 y/o son died suddenly without any goodbyes. I have two older sons, but I still feel empty inside.

It depends on the context of the statement. It could mean they are just hungry.
Or it could mean they feel like they are unfulfilled in an area of their life and it is beginning to bother them. It is or else they would not have shared this.
If they are a friend, relative, or something even closer you might ask, "is there anything I can do to help fill this emptiness"?

It means at that moment they feel unful-filled. There is something missing in their life and they are not quite sure what it is. Un needed and lost, void of emotion. When someone feels this the best thing someone can do is give them a hug and listen. Finding meaning in one's life, knowing that others depend on you for one reason or another can help, no one likes to feel un-needed or un-wanted.

Yes, you feel like you are not whole or complete. It's like something is missing, but you don't really know what it is. It's a very emotional or spiritual thing. That is the reason why people turn to drugs, food, etc. They find something to temporarily fill their void. However, until they find what they are looking for, these temporary things lead them back to square 1 again.

now that is a deep question. empty, lost, it's very hard to put in to words.. I think when you feel empty you are missing something big in your life.. like when you lose someone who's been a big part of your daily life.. there is a whole in your life.. in you. so.. if they have lost there job, or thier goals in life or you no longer feel like the person you were to them.. .. sorry that doesn't seem like a good explaination.

Emptiness is subjective. It can be dissatisfaction, boredom, looking for a better life or opportunity and yes, it may be something missing in somebody's life. Absolutely an opposite of having a productive, happy life.

Either they are hungry or they have internal issues that need attention from you. Sometimes when I feel empty inside I go to the grocery store and find something to eat. When I feel emotionally empty I go to my girlfriend's house. When it gets really bad and no friend can help I go fishing.
