Don't come off as desperate, but don't over do the 'playing hard to get' thing or they will lose interest.

The best thing to do is not to answer everything immediately - i.e. don't anxiously pick up the phone every time he calls ( let him get the answering machine a few times ), don't respond to internet messages as soon as you get them, don't sound TOO available.

You want him to wonder what you are doing besides talking to him or returning his phone calls and answering his messages; who else are you hanging out with. That keeps YOU in his mind. Play with his emotions a little bit, and that will keep you in his thoughts.
