my boyfriend hurt me. we used to be really happy, but for a while (like months) he didn't think about me at all, like no card on my birthday even though he knew it was that day. lots and lots of things. he used to make me cry, sometimes i think on purpose and he wasn't really supportive.

now he is starting to be sweet again, but i feel like i want more. he assumes i know he loves me, but i want him to show it a bit more. to be honest sometimes when he says something like 'your my baby' or 'i love you more than anything in the world' it actually hurts. cos i wanted to hear it before. i still love him, but then that means he can still hurt me, i am a bit more wary i do still love him though.

I couldn't care less if I just did the bare minimum to qualify for marriage - i.e. a registry office. Personally i'm not religious, I don't go to Church, but i'd get married in Church just to appease my partner.

Should I have to pay anything at all? 20%? 50%?

I have a father in law who got into my face a few weeks ago and screamed at me "I hate you, I always have, I'll never love you, I'll never forgive you..."
I thought for sure he was going to punch me in the face.
This was entirely unexpected and shocked my husband and his wife, too.
He let me know when my husband and I got engaged that I was not welcome in the family, that he did not trust me or like me, that he didn't want me around, etc., and had spread rumors about me to my peers and told them to stay away from me.
Anyway, I've been nothing but nice and tolerant of these people (my inlaws and my husband's siblings and spouses) and they've just treated me so unfairly and backstabbed, gossiped and critisized my husband and I just too much.
I vented in a blog one time, w/out mentioning names, and my sister in law read it and sent copies of it to EVERYBODY that she knows, that includes people I've never met. Anyway, all of it just accumulated to my father-in-law yelling in my face

I have a bf, he doesnt have much but the clothes on his back, growing up his parents were just average, a bit poor, both parents never owned a house and he never had a true home and always moving place to place. I hate to say it , but sadly i still live with my parents. My parents worked hard their entire lives, they have their own home and even had another. they always had brand new vehicles and right now, they have three of them, not used crappy ones. I was use to this my entire life. I think my parents are working class and i wouldnt say we are rich. anyway. my bf always points out what is wrong with their possessions and is envious, but not a doer. he always points out to me about his friends cars and they are much more exspensive then my parents, its always better. he says things to me like "my friends mom owns property, and three houses and drives a camaro" is he jealous of my parents??who he is to say anything when he doesnt have 2 cents in his bank account???

My first year of college, i met a guy who quickly became my best friend. I was a sheltered kid in high school and didn't have much of an oppurtunity to experiment, and he kept me out of trouble and safe, while letting me see what the college life was really all about. he had a serious relationship but it had been going down the drains for months and months before i had even met him, and then they broke up. he and i already spent so much time together, that it seemed only natural for something more to develop between us, which did and then one night he kissed me. we had a good relationship but the trust was always an issue so we called it quits and i later found outh e was lying to me about a lot of things. He was an alcoholic, but has been sober for six months and really grown up and figured things out. We're closer than ever now and we've taken time to re-evaluate the situation and i do want to be with him, i just don't want ot make a stupid decision. should i try it again?

To my dismay I have realized that I am a people pleaser. It is wearing me down, and people feel that they can use me any time they feel like it. I want a little respect in life...I'm just afraid to say no and make people unhappy. I think its time for a change. But how do I do it? Any suggestions at all?

ok my sister was had a baby with a guy who she was with for 6 years. the guy became verbally abusive and eventually i talked her into leaving him. she moved with me to california from indiana. about 5 months into the move she starts a long distance/phone relationship with a guy she knew from indiana.well they fell in love and he is a great guy and would be a great step father for her son. so he came to visit a few times and on the last visit she had told him she wasnt on any birth control and offered a condom and he said no and they joked about getting pregnant. well, they did. now my sister is moving back to IN to be with the guy, and they've talked marriage. but she was just out visiting him and she's nit picking on why she doesnt want to be with him anymore. supposidly he only showers every other day. which that would bug me too. he's too afectionate, wanting to hold her and kiss and cuddle all night. that kind of stuff. she doesnt want to move now, what can i tell her?

I hope I am in the right place for feedback... I am the Bio Father.. I have been married now for seven years. My wife wishes to adopt my daughter from my 1st marriage, my daughter also wishes this. She is 14yrs. I am all for it and feel it to be in the best interest of our daughter, however I know my ex-wife, my daughters mother, will more than likley have no part of it. She does owe a substantial amount in CS and Back CS, but is in contact with our daughter and carries a "relationship" with her. My daughter has been calling my wife "mom" since she was 8yrs old, I am not sure how to approach this. We have consulted an attorney and have him on retainer, but I feel (like with most lawyers) he is looking for the "payday" I guess my question is this... How do I know my daughter "Really" wants this for her and not so much for "step-mom"? and if she does should I proceed with allowing the attorney to send the "letter" to BioMom explaining we would like her to consent and terminate her legal rights as "mother"... Please help as I am one who prefers to avoid conflict when possible.. I know this will create conflict.

I don't think questions from 12 year olds needs to be in this forum. This should be from MEN And WOMEN who are SINGLE and DATING.

most of the questions are like "I like this guy" and they are like 12 or 13.

I don't know how these situations can be handled best.

Ok so I've been datng this guy for 7 months. We've had our ups and downs cause hes those afraid to commit types so we arent bf / gf. It was fine for me in the beginning b/c I had just got out of a 2yr relationship and then started dating this guy.Anyways, we've come a long way. I've opened up more as he has too, hes been great, sweet, attentive, tells me how much he cares for me and has love for me. But he made this comment that pissed me off. He was telling me how a coworker of his smacked him on the head playing around & he told his coworker that he plays &jokes around but doesnt like anyone touching or looking at him other than me. That made me happy so I said thats right and made a playful grab at his area. He enjoyed it and was like thats right & you better make sure to please me alot if you dont want me to get it from someone else. It just made me mad that he would say that period, you know? I got so mad that I was like well if thats all it takes to lose you then go.

Under current laws, if a child spends half of the time with one parent and half of the time with the other, then the amount of maintenance due is reduced by 50%. But if you both have the child equal time, which one of you has to pay maintenance? Am i the only one who thinks this is stupid?

My wedding dress is a very light material and when I tried it on with my slip, you can see lumps from the puffy slip. It looks kinda like a garbage bag with leaves in it. I had it bussled and it looks even worse when I bussle it since its being pulled tighter. The slip is very stiff. Is there something I can do to the slip to make it softer or straigted it out. I need ideas on how to keep my dress from looking lumpy. And I can't take the dress back, it's already been altered and everything.

Hi there. I don't want to ask my friends this because they are biased...

I have been meeting with an ex boyfriend and things seem to be going well, then suddenly he sort of went a bit cold. I bumped into him the other day and we went for a coffee and he said he hadn't been in contact because he got cut off. We had a laugh and had a good time together, then we went out for drinks that night and I went back to his and so on.

Then I found out he has been seeing someone, even though he was saying to me he really missed being with me.

So am I just a bit on the side? I'm confused. I can't ask him what's happening because I can't tell him how I know he's meeting someone else. He doesn't know I know and he hasn't mentioned anything.

What do you guys think? Is he really wanting to be with me? Or am I being taken for a mug?

Thanks!

I have a friend who lives in another state. We've been friends for 5 years, and up until recently we were always there for each other. However, I still live with my parents, who have imposed a rule that I must leave my phone downstairs when I go to bed at night. This rule is OK with me because I do understand I need a good night's sleep; however, I am no longer there at night when my friend needs me. I have tried talking to my parents, but they won't budge on this as they think I intend to text ALL night. My friend says I'm the only one she's got, only she hasn't really got me anymore since I'm never there at night - and she means it about taking her own life, she's slit her own throat before. If I told my parents, and they told her mother, her mother wouldn't believe it. So it seems like there's no way to save her... What should I do?
