I went with my dad and my sis to get ice cream, my sis is always doing things for my mom so i thought i would take my moms ice cream to her. My sister got mad and so did I, I got out of the rover and smeard whip creme on the dash board. My dad started yelling at me! I said that is wasnt permenant and and that it would come off with a wet towel. And I walked off as I went down the sidewalk through our carport i shut the gate to my backyard so the dog wouldnt get out and went inside. I gave my mom the ice cream and as i turned around my dad grabs me by the ear and drags me across the living room saying if i ever "slam" the gate on him again he was gonna beat my a**. He dosent do this alot. But every time he does he comes in to apologize. I told my mom to tell him to leave me ALONE. Can anyone tell me if this entire situation is MY fault?!!?

I'm just curious...I've heard and experienced that men don't like to talk about their feelings much and they seem to get irritated with women talking about theirs. Why is that? Do you men have any tips for us women on how we can talk to you when we need to? It's hard for a woman to be "shut down" when she's trying to explain something that is hurting her...so we need you to listen. But, I also understand that men can't handle all that (don't know why) - so I want to be more sensative to my man but I also have some needs myself (mostly to express myself). I'm learning to do some of it with my lady friends - but sometimes I want HIM in particular to listen. He does. He's sweet about it. But, I can tell it's hard for him. Help! Tips? Advice? (Please be nice, no need to bash me or call me names...I'm seeking CONSTRUCTIVE criticism or advice). THANKS! :)

Mostly I call my wife by her name, but often, especially around my kids I call her "mommy" (she calls me "daddy" often too)

I consider this a term of affection, as does she, and have no problem with this. (nor does she)

However my real mother apparantly told her at dinner last night that she shouldn't let me call her this. (My mother hated it when my dad would call her mom)

So question:
is it wrong? Bad taste? Bad for a marriage? I get the impression it is anti-feminist. (mom's a bit feministic)
Though clearly my wife isn't my mom, she is the mom figure for my family, so isn't this OK?
I certainly don't want my kids to call her anything other than mom, and me anything other than dad.

Anyway, how proper/improper is this?

P.S. the question ISNT weather or not this is any of my mom's business, because clearly it isn't. Ultimately what we call each other is our decision, and we are certainly going to be using the mom/dad labels in my mom's presence A LOT!!

my son is really sick with a new cancer. my daughter in law wants me to watch the boys so she can tend to things, and I dont mind that, except she gives me orders instead of asking and before I flew out to help if i call the hospital and he had a visitor she wouldnt let me talk to him or tell him I was on the phone. He was 1800 miles away. How can I get along with her so she won't upset my son with our disagreements?

The Supreme Court on Monday held that states must take steps to register all marriages in all communities. The order can annoy those among Muslims who insist that such legal requirements infringe their right to be governed by their personal laws in matters of marriage, divorce and inheritance.
Reiterating its February 14, 2006, order, the court said, "We are of the view that marriages of all Indian citizens, irrespective of their religion, shall be compulsorily registered in the state within whose territorial jurisdiction it was solemnised." Your comments.

I am dating a man who allows his 11 1/2 yr old daughter to sleep in his bed with him every night. He also allows her to share his bathroom, dressing area, shower, etc while she has her own bedroom and bathroom. They do not close the bathroom door while they are showering, only pull it slightly closed. Should I be concerned? He gets defensive if it is mentioned to him as being questionable and knows a court of law would have trouble with it when he sues the mother for custody, yet he refuses to change it. Any advice?

And why is serial monogamy a better method to sleep around than swinging or open marriage?

Thanks,
