If you grow up in that culture, and your future spouse does, frequently you will have the same value set. This gives you a better base than many marriages today.

Is it harder -- sometimes. Is it easier -- sometimes.

I didn't grow up in that type of culture, but I personally feel that it will work if both parties respect each other (they already hopefully respect each others belief) and are willing to give 100% effort.

It won't be easy, but then marriage to someone who you love isn't easy either -- look at the divorce rates across the world!

I don't think you really know anyone until you have been married to them. Most couples get to know each other truly after the marriage.

I would agree to an arranged marriage if I thought the man was attractive and we got along.

I think the pro's and con's are about the same for either an arranged marriage or a love match. Either way, you have a chance to end up miserable or you can work to be happy.

Pre-arranged/Matchmake marriages worked for both sets of my grandparents. They develope love after marriage and stay true to each other until death do them apart. I guess it is how you view the idea of this kind of marriages. I honestly think it can work if you are anyway not already attached to someone or in love with another. Hence, easier to simply accept being matched.

I don't see where any feelings would be allowed to develope in an arranged marriage & see it as too easy to take someone for granted with this arrangement

Its hard enough to have a good relationship with someone you know! I have no idea how arranged marriages could work, but almost a billion people in India, makes me wonder.

I would not consider a prearranged marriage, and by the way I do not see any thing positive about this type of marriage.
