Does anyone have a helpful hint about getting scratches off of my digital camera glass? They don't seem like very deep grooves but just enough to annoy me with this very expensive camera.

My camera just out of the blue started acting crazy. When I turn it on the lens cover only opens half way. When I turn it off the lens cover opens all the way. If I push zoom on the camera the lens cover closes all the way, and it won't let me zoom past 1.6. The camera won't take pictures. It's like the lens is stuck.

I've tried replacing the batteries. I NEED HELP!

There is a red icon on the screen with a hand that appears to have fingers cutoff to the side. I have try adjusting the exposure value, and notice small changes, but not enough to get a picture worth keeping.

It's a Pentax K10D D-SLR, they're available in Australia but I'm saving a few hundred dollars if I grab this deal. Is possible for it to work here? I know we run on different voltages and whatnot, but is there stuff you can buy to correct that? How much would it cost extra for it? Would there be any problems charging the battery or transferring photos w/ USB?

There's a good reason. My 4 year old daughter turned it on, then shoved the part that zooms back into the camera. Is there a way I can open it and do anything to fix it, or am I just out of luck? I can't find my receipt which voids the warranty. I'm a little desperate, above mentioned stinker's birthday is Saturday, and I definately will need a camera!

I am thinking of buying this lens for my film SLR (A pentax SF-10) but I am looking to moving into a Canon dSLR in a couple years, so I would like to purchase glass that is compatible with what I have now, and what I would buy in the future (the Canon 5D is well beyond my pricepoint - looking at mid to entry level dSLR)

It is a gift for my in-laws, so I want it to be a good piece of equipment that takes great photos, that doesn't necessarily break the bank. Please advise. Thank you in advance!

Hi Guys,

I am just back from holiday abroad and have over 200 pictures stored in my camera. I want to transfer them to my PC and have done so many times before in the past. The camera is less than 6 months old and hasn't been dropped or anything, yet it won't do what it should! I can view the photos on the camera itself only without any problem. What is wrong?

I think there may be a fault with the USB cable that I use to connect the camera to the computer. When I plug it in, I get a message coming up saying 'device not recognised'. I have experienced this before, but it is usually resolved by waggling the cable around or rebooting. It isn't doing it this time and other than buying a new cable, I'm out of ideas.

If it helps: It is a Vivitar Vivicam 3105s 3.2 Megapixel camera.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions given.

I went to a X-Country meet, and took my Canon Powershot digital camera with me in my bag. But, I also had my big waterbottle, and it leaked allover in my bad. My camera case is really wet, and when I took my camera out it was a bit wet too. It won't turn on, and I even put new batteries in and tried to turn it on, and it won't work.

Would it be best to just let it air out until tomorrow? Should I use my memory card on another camera to see if the pictures are still there? What should I do?

Hi, I have a Canon Power shot sd1000. Every picture i take comes out grainy, washed out, and dull. the only ones that come out ok are very close up pistures usually of face shots from the shoulders to top of head with the flash on. if i take a pi of anything more than a couple of feet from me its absolutley grainy and if its indoors i open the blinds to give more light and it comes out flushed out and lacks color as well as grainy
: ( Help. i have a 3 year old and there are so many cute pictures that are just being ruined as they are all grainy

i am upgrading from a point and shoot to dslr. i dont want to buy another camera in the future for a few years.lot of people posted on the website to buy the d40 and 55-200 vr lenses instead of the d40x.thats what intend to do now.but, after spending all this money,($750),i dont want to be needing more pixels in the future.i'd not be printing larger prints may be 11x14 max.its mostly to take my daughter's pictures and my vacation pictures.
i am very influenced by the article http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/d40x.htm.

i just dont want to regret in the future that i should have got the d40x instead.

please help.my dughter's birthday is coming up and i would like to buy before that.
thanx a lot.

Information I have been researching states. The NikonD40 is super lightweight, works great. The battery lasts forever and it's fast and easy to use and carry. Just get one, and use the great 18-55mm lens that comes with it. I make great 12x18" (30 x 50 cm) prints from it all day long. This camera is a 6.1 mp's.
The next thing I read was to get a great 10x8" I need at least 7.2 mp's. So what is the deal withthe mp's? Thanks Martha

I was wondering what is the newer version or the successor to the Canon PowerShot A610. Here's the page at Canon for the A610.

I hear that the best kind of camera is an SLR but I am on a a serious budget (like $250 is my limit) and I hear that they are very exspensive. I want to have the best but right now my money is tight. Are they any good camera's out there for my budget?

I really would like to get a good "point and shoot" style camera that does the whole "point and shoot" part really well. I'm not interested in SLR's or the features of all this other stuff.. I want to take simple pictures that come out crisp and clear, not blurry for any reason. I'd also like one between $100-$200...

Have any suggestions? I'm not biased on brand, but I have had turddy luck with Sony.

I really want a digital camera that has a GOOD macro facility as all the ones I've had in the past have been useless. Want to be able to take very close up photos of plants and butterflies etc. Can you recommend a make and model to go for or at least tell me what I should be looking for when buying a camera, other than the tulip symbol.

Thanks
