I went to a X-Country meet, and took my Canon Powershot digital camera with me in my bag. But, I also had my big waterbottle, and it leaked allover in my bad. My camera case is really wet, and when I took my camera out it was a bit wet too. It won't turn on, and I even put new batteries in and tried to turn it on, and it won't work.

Would it be best to just let it air out until tomorrow? Should I use my memory card on another camera to see if the pictures are still there? What should I do?

R.I.P. Canon Powershot. Its now a paperweight. Repairs will exceed the cost of a new camera so you may as well begin shopping.

Gravity and water are the 2 top killers of digital cameras.

Yep....Canon Powershots are cheap cameras. My girlfriend has one...or should I say HAD one....even the slightest bit of moisture can damage them. Hers did when she went to the coast to visit friends. If it doesn't work after a couple of days of dry time...sell it for parts on Ebay.

Take the card out and the batteries out and let it dry for a day or so and then see what happens, if it still doesn't work, then you might have take it to the repair shot or shop for a new one.

Water damage sorry. You're out of luck! You have to take it to a camera shop and have it fixed. If you get some kind of insurance when you bought it, it should cover it.
