I bought a used Takumar 55mm f1.8. Its M42 screw mount with manual and automatic modes. I used it on my E-330 camera with adapter and it worked fine. The adapater only supports manual operation. However, when I mount it on my Zenit E camera, I did it without using any mounts since its also M42. Now, the lens stuck and I read that a camera needs to have a release button in order to get the lens out. However, there is no such button on Zenit camera and the lens cannot be taken off. Can anyone give me an advise on how to handle this situation? Should I disassemble the camera?

I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy it, but I'd like to hear about your experiences.

This camera fits my budget and has all the features I want.

Thanks for your responses! =)

I'm looking at upgrading my Ricoh R4 to a Canon G9, but I don't want to spend all that money and find I have the same problem. I only bought my R4 a year ago, but I've found that it's HOPELESS in anything less than natural light no matter what the various settings are. All the photos I take (at maximum MP) in artificial or low light are just so noisy/grainy that it takes hours of effort to make them usable but at a vastly smaller size than the full size.

I like the features that the G9 offers and I've heard good things from a lot of people, but I personally have had nothing but trouble with the three previous Canon cameras that I have owned! I'm willing to give them another go, but I want to know I'm not going to buy another camera that's going to annoy me in less than a year.

I like to photograph a bit of everything from outdoor to indoor to concerts, so I need something versatile. I'm looking for opinions and options on how I can find out what the G9 is like to work with

I want a camera with 'excelent' image quality. For reference, I think the Sony DSC-W80 takes horrible pictures.

I've narrowed my search down to the SLR category, but I'm trying to stay under $1500. I want a camera with that takes 'amazing' pictures in low-light conditions, and isn't ackward to hold. Would either of these cameras do the job?

If not, should I save up another $500 and get the Canon 30D?
I want this camera to last me a long time...

In around May I am planning on buying some new toys. I wanted to know if I should spend all of my money on a Macbook pro, so that I can photo and video edit. Or Buy a 2.2ghz Black Macbook and a Nikon D80 digital SLR camera. Right now I am borrowing someones camera so I would use that as my camera, but I think they will want it back soon. If I get the Macbook pro, I still will need a camera but I can maybe still borrow the person's camera then buy my own camera shortly after. Also video editing on a laptop is not a must, becasue I have a very powerful desktop at home. So what do you think?

I've looked on ebay and they sell huge packages ranging from $1000+ and googling Canon 40D brings up camera bodies starting at $419. Ritzcamera has it for $1200.. others for much more... Ebay looks most promising, but what is the catch? Does anyone know what to look for specifically when buying a camera?

My camera is a Canon Powershot A620.
The weird thing is that if I put the file onto a USB drive thingy and take it to my friend's house. The watermark disappears.

Taking night time photos of city lights and buildings, the Nikon P4. Don't want alot of grainy pictures. Is the Museum Mode setting better for less grain? And using the VR on, without a tripod.

I had an old Minolta SLR and now that I've considered shoveling out the cash to upgrade to a real DSLR instead of my cheap Kodak DSLR-like, I want to know what's a good Minolta DSLR, so that I can still use all my old lenses and filters, but have a high-quality digital SLR.
