It seems like everyday i have a new problem with this camera which is probably mostly cuz i dont know how to fully use it yet but, my problem today is BLURRY PICTURES! I have a 14 month old son and i am finding him incredibly hard to shoot. Today he was running around in the yard in his costume and everytime that he would move (after i had focused the camera by halfway pushing down the shutter, and was ready to push it down fully) i would end up with a blurry picture with and/or colortrails. So, i tried moving the dial to sports mode and I STILL had the same results. [ on my camera when you choose sports mode, it gives you an example of a motion shot caught flawlessly, but this is not the case for me] SO, my question is, if sports mode is intended for motion shots, then why doesnt it work? And if i want to be able to shoot in P-mode so that i have full control over my pictures, then how can i get clear pictures even when my subject is in motion ( like a child playing outside?

I'm just getting used to my digital camera. I took some pics, and put the memory card in the card reader that's built into my pc. I went to the Smartmedia folder and then clicked on the camera's name, and then it showed me the pics I'd taken.

So does this mean that my pics are successfully stored on my pc? I don't see an obvious "save" button there. I just want to know if it's safe to delete the pics from the memory card so I can take more pics. I just don't want to lose the first set of pics.

So basically, once the card reader helps your pc see the pics, are they saved?

Hi All,

I have a Canon PowerShot S1 IS. I happened to drop it on floor (in my defence, on a soft floor :-)).

Now it does not work anymore. When i switch it on, it shows the blank screen. If I take a photo, it captures the image all blank (black). So basically I can’t take any photos anymore.

Has anybody faced such problem; any remedies? Or is it the same known issue of CCD? http://www.canon-asia.com/index.jsp?fuseaction=image-phenomena_notice

Additional Information: All other functions like erase, etc. do work well and appear properly on the screen. I also can see the Canon logo when I turn on the camera. I guess that means that the LCD display is working properly.

Canon offers digital cameras such as the EOS 5D, my question is, why have a single lens reflex when there is no film present?. Secondly, is there features such as X-synch mode, B=bulb mode or multiframe mode with a digital camera?.
Lastly, a brief explanation on megapixels.

I thank all for your time and interest.

Credentials are:

1: 2 medium format cameras owned
2: Canon Elan
3: Out of date, and I'm 28 (need some info).
3: Trying to catch up; out of date obviously.

I understand things about pixels, but if you take two cameras, say both 5 megapixel and look at the photos on your comp, one can be significantly better quality than the other, why??

Just received new digital Nikon D80 with a Tamron 28-80mm lens. I have not inserted the battery yet (not charged). With lens attached, I look through the viewfinder and it looks fuzzy. Is there something wrong or do DSLR's need power to get a picture?

I am really falling short of good advices. Let me tell you what problem I am facing.

I enjoy photography but I that is limited to just as a hobby. For casual photography I bought Sony Ericsson W810 mobile with 2MP phone. You may find this very funny but at that point of time I did not have money to put into a camera and also I did not have any passion for photography. Since then after having taken so many photos with the mobile I feel I have improved and my passion has increased. So now I am somewhat ready to buy a camera. Here lies the confusion.

I need your advice here. One of my friend who is an expert in photography tells me to go for Canon SLR which costs about Rs 20K. Another one tells me to go for Sony or Nikkon which falls within Rs 5K.

I do not want to work with a less expensive camera which does not provide good results. Did you have any similar experience like me? Should I go straight for an SLR or a normal digicam?

Or does anyone know of some that are better? I know a lot is based on opinion, but I want/need the best bang for my buck! ;] Help!

I'm shooting a wedding next month. I've never done a wedding before, but I've taken seniors ports. and lots of pictures of children, babies, etc. I have a really good camera. It's a Kodak Easy Share 7 MP. I can't remember what it's "Name" is, ya know, whether its a EX1234 or whatever. But, I'd like to know what the best setting is for taking indoor pictures. All of my outdoor pictures are beautiful!!! But anytime I do indoor they suck. They are blurry, or the flash brightens the object I'm shooting, but the background is dark. I would appreciate any and all help. I want the pictures to be beautiful. And I don't have access to Pro. Lighting.

Hi there,

I am wondering if there is a legitimate place online where I can find an old 35 mm Nikon for sale. Price is no object, as long as it works as it should!

I normally use a digital Nikon D50, but I really miss working with black and white film and I would like to revert back to film in order to start work on my newest project.

Also, where should I look for a Fisheye and Macro lens? I know of a million sites online where I can buy, but I have a bad history with buying online and I'm very hesitant to make any purchases. Can anyone put in a good word for a legimate site that has what I need?

Help! Please and thanks in advance!
Hyl
