Look for some brand you've never heard of and that has never been reviewed by any of the photography magazines. That would be the cheapest DSLR. Of course once you see the image quality ("You know, I really think that's Aunt Milly. Or it could be Uncle Ralph") and then watch your "cheapest DSLR" begin to fall apart you'll understand why buying quality really matters.

I agree about the Pentax K100D. Its price should be dropping since the introduction of the K100D Super and the K10D.

Most likely a used or refurbished one.

If cheap = poor quality you prob wont like it.
