Is there any solid with 100% transmittance of visible light? I want a lense to focus light without any of the light being absorbed or reflected. Is that possible. If not, explain why not. How close can we come?

Will the lens that comes with this camera work for macros? Is the zoom any good? I'm used to point and shoot cameras so I don't know what any of this stuff means.

I'm new to photography and I need to buy a good DSLR to start with. I am trying to chose between the above models. What do you think is the best. (Better if you have hands on experience)
Cost is also a factor!
What are the significant differences?
Is it a issue that the EOS 30D don't have the dust reduction mechnism?

I love my digital camera. It is nothing fancy, a little 6 megapixel Kodak. It takes GREAT pictures, nice and sharp.
My question is about the size of the files. Most of my pictures seem be HUGE file size, some as big as 1 MB. Is this normal? Or am I not sizing my pictures correctly, or selecting the right file type, or the right camera settings?
I really don't know what I need to correct to make the files a practical size to store or to email to people.
Is the prblem in my camera settings? Or is it something I need to do AFTER I have taken the pictures and sent them to my PC?
I am really clueless, and would appreciated any/all suggestions.
Thanks!

I have a Casio Exilim and the camera takes blurry pictures all of a sudden. The pictures are really blurry when I zoom in on my subject. The pictures are normal when I don't zoom in at all. Is there something causing this? Better yet, is there anything I can do to fix this?

I want an amazing photography camera.
not a little digital one, but a old school looking one, I have no idea what they are called.
SLR? with a good mm lens.
I plan on taking fast motion picutes and ones of the outdoors.
if you know of a amazing camera with a decent price, tell me.
but if the best only comes with a huuuge fee, I can deal with it.

thankyou :)

I am in the market for a new Digital SLR camera. I have a budget of AU$2000. I would prefer one which had image stabilisation built into the camera unit, but I am open to all suggestions.

Is there a limit?

Do the camera's have to be rated to go under 100+ ft, or does the housing take care of that?

If the camera needs to be rated, is there a list somewhere of cameras that can go down 100+ ft?

I have a Canon Powershot Pro S3 IS which I absolutely love, and I am looking to get a decent (and resonably priced) zoom lens. Its more a hobby thing, so I dont need "professional" equipment. I have no idea what I am looking for or which direction to head towards. Any help/opinions would be great! Thank you!

This is the little window through which you look out to see the picture. Modern digital cameras now don't have it because you look at the screen, but the old film cameras had it. Is there a specific name for it. Please answer fast.

I recently purchased at a yard sale(for 5 bucks) a beautiful Paillard Bolex "Rex" 16mm camera, in it's carrying case with a ton of accessories. It's a turret camera and has all three lenses. It is in great shape and runs well. Is this worth using? If so, where can I get film for it? Have the projector, too.

It was working fine since i bought it, then one day i took photos and when i tried to see them on screen there was nothing but black screen, i transfered wtever it was on my laptop and it does tell, pic taken on that date from canon powershot a300 etc etc but its all black.

even when i switch camera on, i can see manuals, etc but to take shot...the object doesnt appear on screen i mean its totally black. wt could be wrong and can it be mended.

So, I want to make my own reverse camera in my car. I figured the cheapest way to do it is to chop my cheap digi cam in half and stretch it across my car, with the screen in my dash and the lens in my bumber.

Any kinda help will be nice, If you've done this before or know of any links on use full info, please let me know.

Also I don't want to shock myself on the flash. how can I discharge it?
