How could I "freeze" a fast moving object at daytime without loosing from the brightness? I guess it requires some settings to be done using the Shutter Speed priority function,(the quicker an object is that I want to photography, the faster shutter speed it requires, meaning that less light is able to go through the lens, resulting the obtained pictures to become darker). but what are the other ways through which I could accomplish this? Is there any other ways of freezing, or stopping any fast moving objects in the air (for example a lightning in a storm, or the movement of a fast flying bird...) while still obtaining a clear, sharp, and "frozen" photo or a give moment without loosing from the picture's brightness? (I don't have an optical stabilizer in my camera). Thank you.

This will be my first experience with a telephoto, and I only want to do it once...(hopefully.) My background is in Macro work. Is this the way to go for wildlife safari photography? Any experience anybody has is appreciated, as well as other product recommendations. Money isn't an object, but getting the most bang for the buck is by way of versatility. Thanks.

I love taking pictures and have tried different digital cameras. I have not found a camera that is small enough to carry on trips and still be able to zoom in close enough to get a good picture at my children's school activities. I know I would like to also use my computer and my printer to crop and print using close-ups. My last Kodak digital is 5 Megapixal with a 3X Opital Zoom. I also have the printer dock as well. It takes pretty good pictures, but not close enough. I would like to have the option of auto focus. The one that I have is compact. Can put it into my back pocket. I like to be able to get the whole picture if I want or only my daughter sliding into second, my son's whole class on stage or just him singing. I have been looking at the Kodak Z612 but don't know if this is the right choice. Hope this is enough information. Please help. A mom with picture problems.
