I want to buy a digital camera mostly for taking pics of my daughter. I would like to crop and then blow up pics. I would also like a decent zoom. I am considering the Canon A620, but dont know if I should go for a higher zoom...Does anyone know anything about the Sony DSC-H5? Any feedback or suggestions are appreciated!

Thanks!

I'm looking to get a new digital camera in the range of $300-$450, possibly lower if the camera has better value. Any recommendations or things to shy away from? I'm currently eying a Canon, Olympus, Casio, possibly HP, but open to anything.

Why do people prefer Canon over, say, Nikon or Sony? What's their edge?

I have a Canon Powershot S330. I can take the pictures just fine but when I try to import them on to my computer the screen shuts off. Usually the computer can locate the camera and then gives me options with what to do, but that doesn't happen. So... it doesn't connect or something.

I want to get my Dad a digital camera for his birthday. It would probably mostly be used to photograph animals in the wild from medium to long-range. (AKA deer and such in his backyard LOL)

I only have a video camera, which has a 800x digital zoom. I was thinking I would be able to find a digital camera with something similar, but all I see is 6-10x zoom.

What is a good, reasonably priced digital camera when zoom is one of your biggest priorities.

To me, reasonably priced is under $300.

Thanks so much for your help!!!!! :)

I have a camera now but want to upgrade. It needs a pretty fast shutter speed and good optical zoom. I want something that I can take good pictures with. I was thinking about something like a Nikon D50. Is there anything like it thats cheaper or where I dont have to buy a flash? Any ideas???
