Looks great, very slim, but my personal experience - pictures look great on the camera screen but as soon as you blow up the pictures, they start to become grainy. How can you expect great quality with a tiny little lens. I don't think so. I work for a photographic company and I wouldn't rate it at all for my use.
But
For general purpose, small size prints the camera is great.

My preference order by Make:
1. Canon
2. Nikon
3. Fuji
4. Sony
5. others

You cannot compare the quality of Canon PowerShot series cameras with any other make in the same range. PowerShot range is better than IXUS range in terms of quality because of better lens but are slightly slower than IXUS range.

Hope this helps in deciding what you want to go for.
