Weight is not an issue, but I can't bring a tripod. The concern is blurry pictures if I use the DSLR because both the person and the background would have to be in focus (aka large aperture number leading to a slow shutter speed) for family pics. Any tips will be appreciated =)

Hello guys/gals, i currently have a Nikon D40
and my lense is 70-300mm Nikkor lense without an autofocus...
while the zoom is great, you have no idea how many pictures have to be deleted because they are simply out of focus!!!
My question to u is, do you know if these two lenses are any good? will they work and autofocus with my D40???, and whats the main difference between them:

Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 DG Macro Telephoto Zoom Lens for Nikon SLR Cameras
Price:$99.95

and

Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 DG APO Macro Telephoto Zoom Lens for Nikon SLR Cameras
Price: $170

Whats the APO??? lol and why is it priced higher because of it???
- Do i need it?

Thank you.

my teacher said to change the ISO/ASA after i load the film to either 800 or 1000.
i did that and followed the light meter reading but my camera won't let me take the pictures!
why is that?

She is an amateur with a great deal of interest in photography. She currently has a point and shoot camera with a 10x zoom. The lag between pictures and when you push the button drives her crazy. Most of her shots of the family, but I would like a lens with a good zoom but yet is very versatile. What should I go with?

I like to do things manually, like focus and shutter speed and what not...And I'm a student so anywhere with student discounts would be great!!! And please don't say Ebay, I don't wanna get juiced...

My daughter wants a camera that you can write on the photos and do other editing. I have never seen such a camera and the Best Buy salesman was also stumped. He suggested maybe Toys R Us, but I don't even know what I'm looking for. Any help greatly appreciated. My daughter is 13 by the way so I dont think it would be this expensive sophisticated camera.

I want to get a digital SLR camera to play with photography. My point and shoot digital camera doesn't give me depth of field, pictures look flat.

What digital SLR camera is not that expensive but gives you good quality of photos?

Hi! I have a very close friend serving in Iraq and I didn't recieve his address until very recently (too late to send a package in time for Christmas.) I asked him what he would like for a belated Christmas present and he said the newest version of Photoshop. So, my questions are:

1. What is the newest version of Photoshop?
2. Where can I buy it?
3. About how much will I be spending?

Thank you very much!

please do not order anything from them. Even when I tried to fake order something, they hung up on me. Very rude scam artists to boot. I wish I could report them somehow.

They sound like they are from Jersey, cuz that have that accent. "Your Cawl is impor Ent Tuh Us" LOL

notice that the Verifed by, Trust store, etc are all not linked.

Also notice the "Protected Buy"....LOL what a joke

RatingsPlanet is also a scam link because they rate the site as 5 stars. I feel sorry for anyone who has ordered from here.

Can anyone help me out with finding a digital camera for my mom? Im just looking for something cheap and something really simple to use. She has never had a digital camera before because most of them are to complicated, although she would like to go digital if it was simple. I've only had canon's and those are to complicated for her. Any ideas?

Thank you

Please answer this survey! I have to do it for school! It is about photography in american culture.

here are the questions...

1. Do you think that because most everyone has gone to digital, photos have become less personal?

2.Do you think that because digital images can be manipulated more easily what we see in magazines doesn’t appear as it seems?

3.Do you think that it is right for the government to have a say in what images we see and which ones we don’t see?why or why not?

4.Do you think that americans’ take pictures in general for granted?

5. Back in the 20’s, 30’s & 40’s people didn’t have several photos of their family. Do you think that the photo has lost value because of this?

6. Do you prefer digital or manual cameras?

7.Does digital still have the same detail as manual black and white images have?

8.Do you consider digital images as art? why or why not?

9.Have you thought about how images affect you?

10.What do you think would happen if we didn’t have images? How

I am looking to buy a digital camera. I am looking for a camera that I can take clear, unshaky pictures with while I am moving fast, say driving in my car. Also, I would like a good quality zoom with minimal noise. Very good video properties are essential, and I would definitely like a camera with a built in mic and speaker. I would also like a variety of scene settings, like fireworks, night-time, etc. I would appreciate suggestions any price range, but preferabley from the $200 - $500. I hope someone can help me! I'm no good at figuring this out!

On Urban Outfitters, they are selling a camera called the Diana+ and I love those retro-effects pictures.
http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/urban/catalog/productdetail.jsp;jsessionid=034EAACFF98C1E252FBD5B6A3FC4702D.app12-node4?itemdescription=true&itemCount=60&id=14078927&parentid=A_ENT_MUSICCAMERAS&sortProperties=&navCount=1&navAction=poppush&color=00
It's $50 but the thing is, I wouldn't know where to get any film. I've already got an excellent Canon Digital Camera and Photoshop to produce the effects that I want so should I get the Diana+?
