Cameras - November 2007

I have a Fuji digital camera with 7.2 MP. I paid about $150. I find myself constantly trying to sharpen them in Photoshop. What are other things to look for in a digital camera? I'm not interested in all the "bells and whistles", just sharp, clear, clean portraits. It even has something for shakiness.

And I do make sure not to enlarge them in Photoshop. I also manipulate them with unsharpen mask with a Threshold around 4 . Often they end up grainy, too.

I want a digital camera for Christmas. But I'm not so sure on what camera to get..

What about the Canon Powershot A640?

Or you can recommend one, but please tell me it's features!

I've been involved in a few local car runs/rallys. For the last two runs we have been fortunate enough to have professional automotive photographers tag along with us. Unfortunately, they are both unavailable for the next run. Everyone would still like to have some great pictures, and I would like to help. I am not very skilled in photography, but I do have a Canon Rebel XTi with the standard lens. I need to know what extra equipment I will need to take pictures like these:

What setting and effects should I use to get results like these? I'm not expecting professional quality, but I would like to take some nice pics. Maybe a wide angle or telephoto lens. A zoom lens? How much should I expect to spend to get results like these?

Well my digital camera was recharging and I have no Idea what happened but it suddenly made a poping sound and it started to smell like lighter fuel and now it won't even turn on is there anythign i can do to fix it? I've had this camera for almost a year so theres no way I can return it.

okay i need a really good digital camera.
i really need a rechargeable camera (or would prefer one that doesn't kill batteries).
good memory, would be nice, nice lighting, and that doesn't make pictures all blurry, because i hate that.



any suggestions??

Im going to buy the Canon rebel t2 for Christmas, but im not sure if it captures video. If it doesnt, can you tell me of another camera that also captures video. I would like a camera with a VERY sharp image, and for proffesional photographers. In other words i would like a film camera with video capturing. If there are no cameras like this, are there any camcorders or digital camers with a great image?

I have an Olympus D-490 ZOOM (old, I know). It got wet a couple of weeks ago and ever since, it barely works! It's really slow and the screen doesn't work. How can I fix it? Is it broken for good?

the fish eye gives too much distortion, i'm looking for something that will allow a wider shot, but not be distorted, and of course not change the whole lens since that is expensive alternative

i am a beginner in photography or i can say i have started to learn photography now its time to buy considerable camera. as i am not professional photographer i need a good advise which one to buy.
i know sony H9 is digital and Nikon D40 is DSLR. both have lots of differance but i have read reviews that to be a beginner to intermediate photograper Sony H9 is the best option for quality optical zoom and its lens almost gives SLR touch.

i want to be a good photographer. I use Nikon D70. I usually have to take pics at night inside houses, like in birthdays parties, etc . So, I always use the built-in flash. But the picture exposure doesnt come exactly correct. So, how to know if the picture is over-exposed or under-exposed and what to do to correct them? Plz help.

So, maybe I just might have a great invention, or maybe it's unreasonable: I wonder if there's a digital camera battery that works like a cell phone battery.

My Fujiflim Finepix A610 Lens is stuck when i turn it on it says Focus Error it wont let my take a picture When i shut it off the lens will not go back in.

I have ALWAYS been able to connect my camera to my computers via a usb cable, and have never had an issue. Tonight, it says that my device isn't detected. I've tried both computers, more than one cable, system restore, etc. Not sure what else I can do, but I NEED this fixed ASAP!!

I got a 7MP brand new not even a month ago, and while the pictures I take look great in the view finder, they look like crap on my computer. A friend of mine had changed some features to make pictures more high quality (not sure what he did) but the pictures are really awful. I had an EasyShare before, a 3.1MP, and it took way better pictures than this. Any suggestions?

the school lent me a really nice rebel camera but it was too heavy so i couldnt carry it around and get diverse pics. so now they gave me a nikon coolpix 3200, and it sucks. every pic i take is blurry and low quality. i want to buy my own digital camera that is $200 or less and is lightweight, and good for a photography class. please help give me suggestions! thanks!

Hi, i have a Canon PowerShot A540 i accidentally dropped it. Now when i try to turn it on, the screen says that there is a lens error and to restart the camera. I've restarted it but the lens seems to be jammed. Does anyone know how to fix it!?
