the school lent me a really nice rebel camera but it was too heavy so i couldnt carry it around and get diverse pics. so now they gave me a nikon coolpix 3200, and it sucks. every pic i take is blurry and low quality. i want to buy my own digital camera that is $200 or less and is lightweight, and good for a photography class. please help give me suggestions! thanks!

u dont understand...even my dad was trying it(he is very good with tech, he works with it all the time in his profession) and he agreed that its not good. im a pretty simple kid, im not like those spoiled ones(hell, i dont even know how to text haha). trust me, its not me, its the camera. its very poor quality.

no matter how still i hold the camera, its blurry. we put it on the motion mode(the symbol of a man running), and its decently clear then, but the flash wont work with it so the pic is very dark

i talked to my instructor yesterday and he agrees with me...he told me im doing everything right, that the camera is very low end and i should get another one. by the way, to the person who said to hold the camera steadier for less blurry shots...im holding it completely still and its blurry.

With all due respect, it sounds like you're blaming your tools for your poor workmanship.

Learn to make good pictures with what the school gives you. It will be a valuable lesson which you will appreciate later in life.

Nikon Coolpix is a good one. The blurry may be related to adjustment or to how you hold firmly the camera when pressing the button.
If the camera moves when your finger press the button, you may get blurry shots.

Look online by price range. You will find cheap ones, but do not buy any yet. Take notes and ask at your photography class or school for opinion about the camera that you are up to buy.

Good luck!

No offense, Lauren but in my experience 95% of the time its operator error - not an equipment problem.

Have you actually read and studied the Owner's Manual for the Coolpix? If not, how do you expect to be able to use it properly?

Ask your instructor what you are doing wrong with the Coolpix.

Look at some Canons. I have a Canon point and shoot and am very pleased with it. Be sure to get one that takes AA batteries and has a viewfinder.

Good luck with your class!

These guys know what they're talking about. I once heard that the most important part of a digital camera is the nut behind the LCD screen.
