Since it is illegal to teach things in the classroom from a "pro religion" stance, shouldn't it also be illegal to teach things in the classroom from an "anti religion" stance?

I have to write an essay on what to avoid while giving speeches and I'm at the point where you should avoid sexist, racist, etc comments.

Why? Other than the obvious that your listeners will be offended?

Russia just had another major oil spill, and I dont see much commentary about it. Indias rivers are choked from erosion and pollution, China is the second-largest user of oil. Why is the United States still the only bad-guy in the conservation-blogosphere?

after a family wedding recently the women of 7 generations sat around and the conversation of marriage and what we wanted, and what we thought was wanted in us by the husband, when it came to being a wife.

It was all light hearted, but some things suprised me with the differences and similiarities across the age groups (some teenage girls, some married for over 40 years!).

The older women reccommended that to have a happy relationship the wife needed to do three things:

In the house and money matters, treat him as your partner, giving him the same respect as you would want at work, and pulling your weight to make it work accordingly (both with finance and keeping the house 'nice'.)

In the bedroom, treat your husband as your lover, and keep the romance alive as you yourself would want it.

When he's ill, look after him like his mother would!

It made us all laugh, but I was wondering what your guys thought was the secret to success!

I possibly lead a sad life but I like to listen to "Talksport" on-line.

I can listen easily to BBC radio on my laptop but "talksport" will not play. Do I have to download something extra?

I have "real player" and whatever comes with the computer!

I'm seventeen and I've lost faith in my dream. I have always loved film and always believed to have some sort of gift in what I love. I've always desired to become a film director, but see my dream drifting from me. My dad wants me to be a lawyer or politician because I'm good at public speeking, I'm good at debating and I have a love for english. I have found a good degree at UTS that combines the studies of law and media and believe this is my route. However, I lack comittment and believe that 95% UAI is a crazy figure to reach. I know I can get close but still have my doubts. The dilema that I'm facing is the fact that I'm too lazy, too optomistic in my approach to everything I do and "want to be famous". But the more I think about my situation, the more I feel discouraged, and therefore believe the dream of becoming a famous director is not what I want. Please help me.

In the Netherlands, there is a campaign going on to get as many people as possible to buy a defibrillator (approx. $600). The point is that when a heart attack is reported to the emergency services, the operator can give the caller the addresses of the nearest people who own one so the rescue efforts can start before the ambulance get there. After all, "the first six minutes are critical for the victim's survival".

As of late, I have begun hearing conflicting stories about these devices however. Some say that defibrillators are always helpful, even in cases of full cardiac arrest, while others claim that defibrillators only work when the heart is 'fibrillating' (extremely rapid spasms) and only serves to normalize the heartbeat.

My question of course is, who is right?

We are volunteer catechists and we handle children ages ranging from 6 to 13 years of age. We teach them catholic catechesim every week in our respective communities and we are in dire need of supporters who could possible help us in feeding them during the scheduled classes. Right now the volunteer coordinators take turns in bringing food for the children but we have quite a big area to cover and there are many children who would like to avail of this program.
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

There is a FTD special now-18 mixed roses plus chocolates for only $19.99.

She couldn´t go to my wedding because her Mom was being treated for breast cancer, but I wanted to make this time special for her.

We live overseas, so I know I won´t be able to attend showers, but we´ll go to the wedding, so I´m thinking roses would be a good way to show how excited we are.

Or should I just send a card? I´ve E-mailed her already.
