wat do they mean?

For instance, someone asks me a question, I respond. They say back what I said in a mocking, ridiculing way. I am shocked. Even though they caught me off guard with the question, they did not have to copy how I spoke and the body language I used.

Professional people like social workers and psychologists do this to me when there is no need. I am sorry if I am not as eloquent as they are, they should not judge me or it should not annoy them.

Do you hate this too?

One person had asked whom would we vote for for the Presidency.
Two people said they WERE NOT going to vote Bush back into office.

What exactly are the kids being taught in school anymore?

Ok my neighbors like JUST put up an inflatable snowman/penguin thing that plays LOUD christmas music from 9 am until about midnight. I can hear it in my bedroom when I try to sleep and hear it in the living room when I try to read. Its SO ANNOYING..and its PAST christmas..if they dont wanna take it down they could at least stop it from blaring the same songs over and over! I want to go kill that thing!

Just wondering who else does it besides me. I find it very uncomfortable, and sleeping in one is a even bigger drag.

Ok.....my partner and I occasionally pass wind in front of each other, but generally we would go out of the room and do it just so the other person doesn't have to suffer, you know? Just to be polite. But my family came to visit recently and they just pass wind anywhere! In front of us, right next to you, for goodness sake my mother passes wind in the supermarket and doesn't care if it is loud or smelly!!! Does anyone think this is a bit rude?

I am a non-smoker. My mother smokes and she came to visit recently. I watched her have a cigarette and then come into the house and she put her hands straight into the salad and started tossing it without washing her hands. I think this is really gross but when I approached her about it she got defensive and told me not to be silly. Am I overreacting?

This is a weird question, I know, but I need to find out if I'm the loony one here.

My brother-in-law thinks it's fine to go without his pants or underwear when he's in his house. My sister thought it was kinda crude and trashy when he started it, but had to admit that it IS their house and it's private and nobody else is around. But one day he didn't know I was in the kitchen talking to her and he came out of the bedroom with only his T-shirt on and then he quickly covered his privates and told me not to be a perv and accused me of sneaking around his house. What the heck?!

So, is this normal behavior? I've heard of guys relaxing in their undershorts, but totally uncovered? Thoughts?

My neighbors are so rude they moved in about 6 or 7 months ago, and ever since then they have their dog bark every, single, day! (The dog sounds extremely mean too!) And they NEVER make their dog stay inside or even attempt to stop their dog from barking. And after their dog starts our dogs bark back at them. My mom always makes our dogs come inside, but they don't do crap! Is there any way I could get them to have enough courtesy to make their dog shut up?

Imagine a large office with about 65 cubicles all manned by workers on either side of a long walkway. Then imagine a 45 year old woman who walks around day after day sniffing and coughing. Then imagine that same woman 'borrowing' kleenex at every turn and proceeding to Blow her nose so loudly that you can hear here from one end of the building to the other.
THEN imagine her having the gall to throw her kleenex into the nearest trash can (not her own!)
How do we handle this?

I'm a very sarcastic/cynical kind of person and sometimes I say things that are very mean. How can I not be a jerk? I'm trying to be a nice person. Sometimes I say mean things. How can I be better?

Is it rude or too much to expect when you send a card AND money and then never get any acknowledgement back? I have been sending for years to my 2 cousins (20-22 year olds) money/gifts, etc. and they never send any thanks back. should i just stop sending them anything? I feel like why should i even bother if they are not going to even acknowledge it! :(

I have this friend who competes in beauty pageants. She is 22 years old, all grown up and able to make her own decisions; she gets LIVID when I and others refer to her pageants as a ‘beauty pageant’ because she says its so much more than that. (brains)

Here is my opinion,…if you want to participate in things like this I think its perfectly fine but don’t get all hissy when others don’t view a competition that has a swimsuit with stilettos portion as a ‘love me for my mind’ kind of competition. I guess I just see life in a different light as with my priorities and I don't value competition in the form of appearance.

I just can't acknowledge this as an actual feat of accomplishment and don't get me started on child ones because I find their swimsuit portion disturbing.

Opinions or thoughts on pageants in general anyone?

If you have items that you no longer need, should you be compelled to give them to "family" instead of someone else with a greater need?

I gave my 5 year old digital camera to my father in law's housekeeper. She had wanted advice to buy one, but I though that this lady is so good to my wife's dad, I gladly give it to her as a gift.

Now my wife's [college educated, high salaried] brother and wife are upset, saying "family should come first".

My wife is waffling, but I'd rather give according to need. The cleaning woman was interested in buying a camera to take pictures of her kids, etc, and has an income far beneath the brother in law and his wife....who have showed no interest in photography, and could easily buy this same camera on eBay for $60. To me, their only interest seemed to be getting something for "free",

Anyone else in this position? A friend calls it the "family comes first tax".

PS father in law is very happy with my decision, which is all that mattered!!

Ok, we had decided to use the niece of a friend of our family to professionally videotape our daughter's Sweet 16 party and to make DVDs out of the footage.

We got two DVDs as planned; one worked and the other one didn't. It just stood on the menu screen and when I clicked "play" nothing happened. The woman accepted in back and gave us another DVD free of charge. When we got 2 more DVDs back; again one worked and the other one did not. This time one of the DVDs constantly skipped despite cleaning and it would not stay straight.

Now, a friend of ours is having a wedding and had called asking about how we liked this woman taping our party and did we like the results. I told her the truth; I said the footage was great but she gave us a couple of faulty DVDs that would not work. She tried to correct the problem but the second time she once again gave us a faulty disk.

A day later, the video person calls us blaming us for having made her lose a client and saying she has bad DVDs.

Me and a couple friends were driving into the city for a night of partying, we live about 40 min away. Anyway as we driving one of my friends had to pee because alcohol (not the driver). So we pull into a gas station but guess what - it's just a person in a booth, no service or bathrooms!

So my friend ran around to the side of the building and past this soda vending machine. And she just went for a pee there on the asphalt, squatting behind the vending machine!!!

What do you do, if in the same situation?
