keep the needle and contact the company, serious health hazzard and you should be compensated by atleast an apology

Make good digital photos of the needle in the sofa and then contact the store where you purchased the sofa. Demand an explanation, an apology ,or a replacement of the pillow at the very least. If you are able to take the needle out, do it and leave the thread in tact and save it.
Fortunately, no one was hurt. But the manufacturer should be made aware of the negligence of one of their employees and I would write a letter immediately to them with a copy of the photo. (you save the actual needle).
Should you not get satisfaction of a remedy of a pillow or even a sofa replacement, then you have your photos, the needle and thread in tact, and you have the option to contact an attorney.

Spray the area surrounding the needle with red paint, so everyone will know not to sit there.

Call the store you got it from and ask them what to do. I would also call the manufacturer and complain.

It was an accident, so just cut it out and forget about it. Accidents do happen and no one was hurt.

I'd call the place where you got it and have them assess the situation.
