Most people aren't even aware of this. After all that's gone wrong in Iraq and Afghanistan, now we're sending our troops into Pakistan. An agreement was made between US and Paki forces the day before Bhutto was killed? What are the possible positives and negatives?

I been in the Army for about 18 months...and one thing I notice about the Military(or could be just the Army) is your Leadership or Sgts pushing us too hard when we doing PT.

For Example...... Like if I'm running in formation during PT...and I fall out because my toe is killing me...my Squad Leader or Platoon Sgt will jump outta the formation as well & tell me to keep going. The Sgt don't even know how my toe feels & don't know how much pain I'm in....but yet tells me to keep moving.

The Platoon Sgt/ Squad Leader is NOT a doctor & is NOT in my body to know how much it hurts or how it feels.

So why do they tell us to keep going so that we can make what's wrong with us(strained or broken part of the body) WORST?

I know if I was a Sgt & I see my soldier falling out..I would tell them to stop & see what's wrong with them. Not say.."Keep Going! It's normal!"

Will I encounter any problems reguarding my spouse living with me or can this all be resolved while i am on leave. I want to make sure that when i get to my duty station my spouse will be able to live with me, and i wont be stuck in a "singles" living situation.

Can a soldier keep his uniform both combat and formal dress, rifle and sidearm (decomissioned or not) and their helmet, knife, torch etc. In ww2 I know that officers were allowed to keep EVERYTHING they were issued including weapons(decommisioned) just wondering if it still stands.

I was wondering, when is a war, technicaly a Wold War?

Is it :

When ___ number of contries are involved.
When some certain political goal is at hand.
When the government decides it is.
Or ___________ fill in the blank. (other)

Explain your answer.

I'm wondering, because, I think several contries are in part of our fight against Iraq, and Iran, and Afghanistan, and wherever else we have troops.

Also, do the countries involved all have to be big time, superpowerish contries????

Thank you :)

My husband needs to decide soon if he is going to re-enlist or not. He joined when he was 27 and has 3 1/2 years in now. He is on a small ship and everyone keeps telling him that the navy is so much better outside of this duty station. We also had children before he joined and now our oldest is having a extremely hard time. He said that he is always a dad before a Sailor. It's so hard because he loves his family and his job. How do you decide what is right. My opinion is I just want him to be happy, and I support him all the way whatever he decides. We both like the military life, but the cons out way the pro's in both our minds. Can anyone offer some advise? Also, my husband and I "both" make the final call, it's not a one sided descision.

My 2 questions are;

1. Are you aware of any scientific, national, international, military or police reports of any ancient human discoveries where people (singular or plural ) appear to have been in a collective group and have died as a results of having become entraped within ice including; frozen tundra, pack ices or ice burgergs, rivers, lakes, & streams. Including within & outside or near to the Artic and or Antarctic circles?

2. Also, what methods and equiptment are the best to look for them?

I'm not looking for the next ice man. We all have heard about that one. I'm interested in something else.

Serious answers only.

Thanks,

Ed

It seemed very effective at stopping everything and keeping you in one piece. Why did the military ditch it?

and former Marines that each drill instructor portrays different unique characterisitics. the senior drill instructor was the father figure type. he was in charge of the platoon, even though he taught us discipline, for the most part, he wasnt the disciplinarian, his junior drill instructors are. its like a good cop bad cop thing. one drill instructor was for the most part the teacher, but he also disciplined recruits when needed. and there was the other drill instructor, he was the monster, everything you do is wrong. even if u say 2+2 is equal to four you are wrong!!! he acted very sadistic even though now i know he done all this for our good. my question is, do other Marines and former Marines saw this same pattern while in recruit training? i would love to hear from former drill instructors explaining the different characters drill instructors portrays and also do the other branches of the service practice their recruit training in a similar manner?

My husband is in the Marines, and I was wondering if the military will pay for me to go to a cosmetology institute, since it isn't a college? I don't really even know how college would work either. Does any one know about this or know where I can find this information out?

I always see on the commercials the Marines in their dress blues and the front guy always has a saber. Are the sabers only given to commissioned officers like in the olden days, or do they give every Marine on graduation day a saber? I would totally love a saber, I love swords and everything. That would be a great perk of becoming a Marine.

I still haven't been able to meet with a recruiter yet, what with the holidays, their office has been closed for quite some time now.
