This question applies US, France, China, India, Britain, Russia, and every other country that has carriers and focuses on carrier battle groups. With the advent of long range missiles, a carrier carrying supples, ammunition, people, and planes can be sunk really easily. That would be a huge waste of time, manpower, and resources. If i was the guy in charge of the navy, i would focus more on smaller carriers(to minimize risk maybe, spread things out, though more costly, if a war happens, i would be less likely to lose it all in a single hit) and surface vessles like destroyers and smaller, and of course submarines, which can be difficult to detect AND launch cruise missiles. I understand the need for a base of operations for fighters, im just concerned about the risk in focusing on super carriers and carrier battle groups, with stealth and missiles and all(a frigate could steam close enuf to fire a missile, and if the CIWS fail to intercept it, its bye bye carrier).

This may not be a good question but since much has been made over nuclear attacks and in current wars use of missiles , bombers, and ground attacks could one country empty the money out of another long range and transfer the money from that country to the other. Since much has been made of computer abilities it appears a fleet of ships from a Navy could drain the money out of another nation by computer or at least a sizable portion of it is this possible. If any of this is them could draining eachothers bank accounts be an important form of warfare and would this keep the citizens of the countries alive since it would be a transfer war not physical war.

IT TOOK ABOUT FOUR MONTHS FOR SERBIA TO SURRENDER WHEN US & NATO DID AIRSTRIKE ON SERBIA.

SO IT LOOK LIKE IF THE US SEVENTH FLEET START BOMBING BURMA MILITARY BASES THEN BURMA WILL SURRENDED WITHIN FOUR MONTHS.

OCTOBER, NOVEMBER, DECEMBER AND JANUARY.

SINCE THE SYSTEM HAS IMPROVED THEN IT WILL BE TWO MONTHS NAMELY, OCTOBER AND NOVEMBER,

BY CHRISTMAS DAY, ALL BURMESE WILL HAVE PEACE.

ALL BURMESE GENERALS WILL LEAVE FOR CHINA.

ALL COLONELS IN BURMA WILL BE PROMOTED TO GENERALS.

I THINK THOSE COLONELS KNOW THE COST?

I am heading to Marine Corps Recruiter School on Oct 31st and have a few questions for any of those with experience.

What are some things you wish someone would have told you about before going to the school that would have prepared you/made the experience better there?

Also, how far is MCRD from the airport in San Diego (Lindbergh Intl.)

How long was the typical training day?

One more thing, what is one thing you wish you would have taken with you that is not on the gear list.

Thanks in advance to anyone with advice/input on this!! I have some SNCOs in my unit who were recruiters, but they went to the school awhile ago, so things could have changed.

Iraq got it's own destiny. Whatever happened has happened. Now there is not much meaning in keeping forces, I thought personally.

I am flying down to San Antonio on Wednesday and I will be trying to get onto Lackland AFB on Thursday. We are not military and my boyfriend sent me three visitors passes. I know my mother will need her ID, but will I? I am 17 and still a dependant so will I need my license for getting on base or will it just be her? I can't find my license which is why I am asking this question. Thanks much!!!!

Hello everyone!
I am supporetive of the war, but I wonder if when all is said and done, and countless deaths later.. Will history look back many years from today and question our being in Iraq? And when will we be able to withdraw the troops for there?

I think everyone has an opinion on this subject!
