I just read a little about this in Discovery.com's military section but could not see the other details. Is it actually a sea going vessel or just an amphibious beach landing craft? A picture even showed it with an aircraft landing facility.

Studies have shown that individuals who would normally/eventually end up as part of the ever growing prison population statistics would benefit immensly from a 'short sharp shock' treatment that a stint in the army would achieve. I think that 'Boot Camps' should be implemented to facilitate this. There are enough ex-squaddies out there who would jump at the chance of becoming a soldier again. Take 'Bad Lads Army' for example. All soldiers shown there are ex-squaddies. Boot camps would be cheaper to run as well in comparison of up to £1000 a week to keep a prisoner in prison. The end product could even produce good soldiers to properly join up. Although this 'short sharp shock' treatment would be given as a punishment, but as an alternative to a prison sentence.

I'm an exarmy disable vet and I think that we should give them a chance to give back to society, by sending them to Iraq to become a true american agian. The army training would also be good for them. Just my opinion, what do you think.

First, the few leaflets that were dropped were more for public relations than to save innocent people.

Secondly, the Israelis already bombed roads, bridges and airports so the people have no means of escape.

Thirdly, what abouit the poor and infirm? How can they leave and where could they go?

I visited a Lebanese man today as part of my job. This man, very polite and pleasant, suddenly became agitated. The work we were supposed to complete today had become unbearable because previous to my arrival he had just found out that family members had been blown to smithereens by Israel fighter jets. Body parts of his little nieces and nephews were strewn around the street.

Where is the justice in this? Why does Israel continue to attack helpless civilians? First they destroyed their means of escape (airports, bridges and roads) then zeroed in on the population.

Is this fair?

With the world attention now focused on Israel and Lebanon, could the North Koreans be getting ready to launch an invasion of South Korea? Gunshots were exchanged across the DMZ today, the first time in a year. The Iranians were in North Korea to observe the recent missile tests, so could this be part of a plan where the Iranians, in exchange for North Korean atomic technology, were to start up a conflict using Hezbollah and so divert world attention away from North Korea prior to the start of an invasion of South Korea?
