It is a matter of opinion and perspective. First off the size of an empire does not make ANY leader or general smart or great.
Muhammad was not a general. If anything he preached peace and practiced violence. His preasent day follower are doing the same. Islamic practice historicaly has not been peaceful at all. Not only do they wage war against other religeons, the butcher each other. Besicaly it has historicaly been a matter of convert or be killed. They also used slave armies as sheilds to insure they themselves would be spared death in battle whenever they could. Many of examples of this practice can be found in the crusades.
Kahn war a good leader but I must say that I credit his generals more for his acheivements then him. He did not lead the army through all the campaignes and relied on his generals to acheive his goals. His general rule was "Submit to me or die." However there are many example of good treatment to those who did not resist.
Alexander Is very unlike either of the other two. He care about ALL religeons and isured that ALL people where able to retain whatever faith they had. I unlike they other two sought to inter-mix races through marrage and trade. The efects of merging the culture in such ways can be seen throught the Emire he once held. Also Alexander's tectic's and weopons would have defeated the Kahn's horsemen. His army proved that many times during his campagne. It's to bad the people in the middle ages gave up that stile of fighting to the past. Alexander was a very educated man taught be Aristotle (not socrates). With the histories of alexander as the are. We get to see what kind of things he did to exseed in his court that what we know about Kahn. Alexander also liberated slaves and Greeks alike during his time where you see most the oposite in the other two who used slaves or enslaved.

The smartest? Hmmm.
Out of the three, I'd go for Ghengis (properly Chingiz) Khan. Not only did he unite the Mongols, but he devised a single all purpose tactic which was literally unstoppable. They conquered the whole of Asia apart from SE Asia and the Indian Subcontinent and Europe up to Hungary and Bohemia, and north into Russia. They would have conquered the whole of Europe but for the illness of Genghis, which meant the armies were called back to pay their respects. He opened up the path between the east and the west, reigniting trade routes from China to Europe that hadn't existed since Roman times.

between those 3. hmm. was going to say Gen Robert E Lee but since he isnt competing I'l ltalk about the others. Ghengis Khan is the most genetically successful of the three, with millions of men sharing his Y cromosome. Muhammad was the most socially successful of the 3, with millions of people following his religion. Alexander the great was the most militarily successful, considering the amount of terretory he conquered in his short life.

Muhammad was not a great war general. In comparison to the other two he did not lead any extended campaigns or conquer vast amounts of land. This is clearly a baiting question to get people riled up about Islam.

great question one of the best yet they were all excellent generals but there weapons and tipes of armor and swords and way of fighitng was so different because of the three different time periods there hard to compare i would say Alexander the great was tho for these reasons hey conquered most of the known world in his short years of being king hey was brave and would always fight in the front lines with his men plus very very intelligent was tought by the brilliant philosopher Socrates that alone sums it up

If you compare- then it is the Great Mohammad.
If you say that other two were smartest war general, then the chances are you will be hated by all the muslims of the world and be killed by one of the terroists.
