Military - July 2006

Asked for my friend, her husband is an Army Helicopter IP now in Iraq.
She said:
"We exited the Active Duty Army in 2001. As a Civilian, he was working as a EMS MedEvac Pilot. After a month of moving into a new house, he received word (it was the 4th of July, 2005) that he was being recalled to Active Duty. He would be leaving on our 10th Anniversary.

The kids and I have been relatively isolated as far as military life and support are concerned. I have fallen into a fantastic community who will help whenever they can and I am thankful. I just wonder because there's really no one to ask... what do people in our situation do? Am I doing everything I can?"

My husband is leaving for Iraq, he leaves for training this Friday! Don't know how long he will be at training, it depends on how many others are there with him! We find that out tomorrow! But he will be going to Iraq afterwards for 18 months! I don't know what to do!!! It's so scary, and everything and I'm trying to be strong for him, I just want to break down though!!!!! Anyone have advice on what I should do, how do I get by knowing he is there in that damn place!

The evidence is mounting. Why was there a 7-8 hour gap between the strike and the building collapse? Why did they say that many died in their sleep if there were loud explosions nearby?
Why did they wait til the camera crews arrive to start the "rescue" operation? Observers say that the bodies removed had rigor mortise, not something you see in a person dead for only a few hours. Couldn't it be possible that the already dead were moved to the building and the building exploded by hezbollah? Note that the roof of the building is intact.

Used to be when you joined the military you looked forward to making rank because of better pay, housing, and other perks...seems now all ya have to look forward to is retirement. My husband and I joined back in 92, and although I'm not active duty anymore he is still in. Seems you get all the breaks today if you are an airmen. You get these huge bonus's for enlisting and reenlisting, and base of preference, amongst other things. When we joined up the only perk was being able to say "I'm serving my country...and a paycheck the first and the fifteenth. Also when we joined up we knew it wasn't just for the college and there might be a darn good chance we could have to deal with a war at one time or another. Why do all these young kids think that the military is just another way to finance college today? It's the military and it is wartime, last glance I took. I remember someone saying "What do you mean I have to go to Iraq? I've got to finish my colllege classes first".

Israel first attacked USS Liberty, a clearly marked American ship in international waters, using unmarked jet fighters while jamming the US Navy communications and International distress frequencies. The unmarked Israeli fighter jets dropped bombs on Liberty to destroy its antennas, then send in those gunboats to torpedo the ship in an obvious attempt to sink it. Then, when Captain McGonagle ordered the lifeboats afloat preparatory to abandoning ship, the Israelis moved closer and machine-gunned the inflatable rubber rafts, rendering them incapable of saving the lives of the American sailors. Just as the US Sixth Fleet got wise to the Israeli attack and sent American fighter jets to Liberty's assistance, Israel had been loading troop helicopters full of commandos whose mission was (probably) to "finish the job" so that there would be no witnesses to the Israeli treachery. Why did Israel do this? Is it some persistent quirk of Jewish character, similar to what we see now in Lebanon?

i posted earlier and came up with some of the bases i should make my choices when i enlist.ft hood, Fort Sam Houston , fort bliss. I am going to try to pick one of these because they are closest to home (oklahoma city) and they are near larger cities (for my wife to work at a big hospital as an LPN. what is the priority that i should put them in? in terms of school opportunity for myself and wife, living conditions, family recreation (we have 2 kids) and career for my wife. I know this is a giant wish list and i probably wont get either of them, i at least have to try. list them in priority and why. also I would love to go to germany and my wife is truly skeptical because of the distance and rarity of seeing family. do we get any kind of compensation for flying back and forth from germany to see our family? if so explain, also try to pursuade my wife into going to germany.

Israel is killing innocent children and people now and you are silent. why??? http://www.fromisraeltolebanon.com

Some say it is not the time to be sentimental, it is time to fight back the real terrorism in this world.

However, I cannot help the tears running down my cheek, and the sorrow breaking down my heart.

For in the name of which justice Israel had the right to love us so much?

For how can they ask their children to sign the gifts they are sending us to Lebanon?

For how can these human beings (if there is anything left out of humanity in them) can hurt the Lebanese so much, after being hurt so much?

The victim cannot turn to an oppressor. I refuse to believe that. I refuse to believe all Israelies are war criminals like their government. I refuse to believe that in the name of fighting terrorism we destroy the beautiful land where Jesus made his first miracle.

God, if you still have some faith in your creation, I call upon you… Reveal yourself, for peace is bleeding without your help. Human beings are becoming real savages, life is becoming much more then what we deserve to have.

You, the man above, look at the children of Lebanon…

they can be in if the keep it a secret. but seriously, come on. its not a big deal. gays should be allowed to serve openly. other countries do, and it didnt make there military worse than it was before gays could serve openly. i think it would be smart, we need the people to serve, and there are many gays who would serve if they could do so with out having to deny there sexuality
