Cancer has been gone since january but I still need xrays and ctscans every 3 months.

Is there a page that list the medical restrictions for the armed forces?

To my knowledge, you can join.
To confirm any answers, just ask a recruiter.
You don't have to give him or her your name.
Just ask your questions.

Most likely not in both cases. The braces will have to be off before basic and the cancer... well, that's a tough one. It MAY depend on the form of cancer and the prognosis but I doubt they will let you in. Ask your recruiter and on't try to hide it... they will find out and kick you out with a general discharge.

I do know of a guy that was already in and got testicular cancer. He stayed in and they allowed him to. Walking in the door with it, or history of, may not happen.

If you already had cancer before you joined then they are not going to let you in sorry to tell you cause my brother is in the Army and he ended up with cancer last year and they tried to kick him out but it did not end up happening but they don't want anyone that has had cancer in the military but I'm very glad that your cancer is gone.

You have to be 5 years past cancer, so that they know that is isnt just in recession. Talk to a recruiter about it, check out the message boards at www.Military.com

They might not want anyone with cancer because then they'll have to spend money treating you plus paying your wages.

They do back ground checks so if you don't tell him you had cancer going in and it comes back they will discharge you.

What type of cancer? How much longer will you have the braces?
