Infantry is the best kept secret in the military. Best quality, smartest, most motivated individuals.
It won't get you a specific technical skill but it will train you to be a competent leader, and give you the "intangibles" that civilian companies like: integrity, discipline, work ethic, dependability, commitment, maybe even common sense... yes it's a good field but don't expect anyone else to understand.

My Father was a Lifer. 2 Bronze Stars, 1 Silver Star, 1 Purple Heart and more.
The United States Army is an honorable profession.
Think about this. No matter which MOS you choose you can be an Army of One.

It'll depend on your personality. Infantry is more exhausting, stressful , and dangerous than artillery. Artillery does'nt have the mystique that infantry. If yer into the door kicking, explosives, gung-ho stuff I'd go infantry.

If your ASVAB was good enough, go to be a medic. AIT will be a bit long, but you get EMT training that could take you almost ANYWHERE. If you want some action, look in to being on the field instead of in a hospital. That way, you can be part of whatever unit you’re assigned with, and do more than just shoot at people all day.

Do you want to be a career soldier? Then this is a good place to start, but if you want to serve your four and go think of something that you could use to apply to the civilian world such as a computer tech, airplane mechanic, event a cook if that what you like to do and don't listen to the recruiter because they will lie to you just to get you in. They get a bonus for this.

Become a 31B Military Police - you will do about the same as an 11B but you will also gain the skills of law enforcement and you will be trained on more weapons.

Dude.....neither. All grunts are dumb as sh!t. Do something worthy that will get you a good job in the civilian world. Do something that will get you a security clearance or do something in the medical field. Something that requires some intelligence. NOT a dumb-a$$ grunt.
