Vicki...that is so funny...China??? You do realize the Japanese during WWII gave them such an *** kicking with only a small fraction of the population....500 million Chinese vs. 80 million Japanese. China would get destroyed so fast it would be an after thought. No Navy to get those troops anywhere after the US Navy completely destroys them.....it wouldn't be much of a contest without nuclear weapons.

This IS WWIII. I've been saying it for a year and now so is newt gingrich. Nuclear weapons aren't a necessary component, but who knows. Look at the situation. We are in this war on terror in Afghanistan and Iraq. Afghanistan has just come under the command of a NATO commander for first time. Israel is being attacked and is retaliating with restraint but Iran is threatening to wipe them off the map. Iran and Syria are both supplying those who are attacking Israel right now. Israel will not continue to play a containment game forever. There we sit right between Iran and Syria, with Jihad being declared all over the place. Pakistan(another muslim country) has been carrying out terrorist bombings in India. India is not going to tolerate it much longer. Both India and Pakistan have nukes I might add. Iran is working hard on developing nukes. We aren't going to let them have them. So there are a couple reasons why we can get into it with Iran. Syria goes along with Iran in everything. You get Israel and the U.S. in a war with Iran and Syria who knows what other muslim countries will join in, but think about possibly Israel, India, and the U.S. against Iran, Syria, and Pakistan...maybe even other muslim countries. Perhaps the UK will join in (though most of their people dont want any part of us) and other NATO countries. Now..China is sitting in pretty good shape economically, but there is one thing they need a lot of and that's oil. Russia too. If there is a war in the middle east they'd be afraid to death of western powers gaining control of oil, so...... I haven't even mentioned North Korea, and we already know what kind of nutcase is running that country...with nukes no less. Do you honestly think that a world war can be avoided? If not, would we not be in the first stages of that war now?

I would agree with you to a point on that.
The thing is I would bet on China because of the manpower.
We would be ok in the tech part the the Soviets would be good there to.

None, becaue the next World War will be nuclear, and there are NO winners in a nuclear war. The earth will become inhabitable for humans.

War is stupid. and asking those questions; you become the war

Nobody would want to hear about war for another 20,000 years.

I disagree with the America; for Bush is still in power. once he is out, then maybe your bet would become valid
