I visited a Lebanese man today as part of my job. This man, very polite and pleasant, suddenly became agitated. The work we were supposed to complete today had become unbearable because previous to my arrival he had just found out that family members had been blown to smithereens by Israel fighter jets. Body parts of his little nieces and nephews were strewn around the street.

Where is the justice in this? Why does Israel continue to attack helpless civilians? First they destroyed their means of escape (airports, bridges and roads) then zeroed in on the population.

Is this fair?

War is never fair, pretty, or logical. It's part of the madness of man that we keep repeating the same excersize in futility and keep coming up with the same results. Sad, your friend is in my thoughts.

You have been a mouthpiece for arab terrorists and an America basher since long before this started. Why not just be honest and admit you are anti-jew? I'm sorry I'm not buying your little story. If on the slim chance it is true it is Hezbollah not Israel you should be angry with. They are the cowards that hide behind women and children. Hezbollah is responsible for the deaths of all these people. Israel has gone to great lengths to minimize civilian casualties, including advanced warnings. No I don't think it is fair that these animals use innocent children this way, but that is Hezbollahs way. Why don't the other Lebanese stop this?

If that is true, then it's another tragic story. I have a very close friend who is Lebanese. He lives here in Texas, but has family there. He is upset with Israel, but seems to be more upset with Hizbolla for hiding in the civilian population. Don't get me wrong, he is no fan of Israel, by any stretch. He blames the members of Hizbolla for doing what they are doing KNOWING how Israel is going to respond, and then hiding in the residential areas.

The explanation is the fact that Hezbollah hides among citizens. Israel dropped leaflets all over the place telling people to get out because they planned to start bombing. I'm not saying that excuses the fact that the innocent civilians are dying, but it's difficult to bomb only Hezbollah when they hide in the middle of civilians. A recent bomb was called a mistake by Israel officials, but I don't know if it's the one you're talking about. I do wish it would all stop, but we (the US) need to stay out of it. It's not our fight.

It's never fair that kids are killed in war. They are the most innocent of all. It's horrible everything that is going on there, but you're putting this blame on Israel? Hezbollah is responsible for the death of those people. Look at what they're doing over there! Using these children as human shields.

Simply people think that living in the USA or Israel makes your blood more expensive? huh? you think your worth more than those in the middle east being bombed and oppressed? Well guess what..those who doing this type of careless bombing have the cheap blood to have a heart to drop it on innocent people. If you want to drop the big bomb then drop it on Israel and get it over with and every thing will go back to normal.

My opinion is that Israel has gotten lazy, and since they know that they have the US on their side, they pay lip service to minimizing civilian casualties. I mean, I know that innocent people can get caught in the crossfire, but every day hearing on the news how more civilians have been killed is getting ridiculous.

Why? Because Hezbollah is a terrorist group and they have kidnapped two Israeli soldiers. You can't bow down to terrorists and let them take your soldiers. Israel has fought for years for their right to their own homeland. Dates back to even before Titus destroyed most of Jerusalem in 70 CE. They must defend themselves and their soldiers. Lebanese have allowed Hezbollah free reign...their own choice.

why why why do they let them run around like they do? come on dont you think you would take your kids to a safe place even if you had to walk or carry them. Did you see any people doing these things like that in Nam. or anywhere else. that does not make it our fault nor us to blame. If the best Dr. did heart surgery's on 25 people that came out OK and your fathers did not is it the Dr.s fault ?how much food do you throw out every week while people starve to death?

Yep - if Arabs would stop backing terrorist organizations then no one would need to blow anyone up. Personally I think we should just drop the big one on the Middle East and get it over with. Sure people would complain for awhile, but gas prices would drop sharpely.
